CMR has made it loud and clear that we are going to the SEC model with the staff he is assembling as every single hire was on an SEC staff this past season with the exception of his son who was in the NFL. Personally hate the SEC as much as the next person but the bottom line is they compete at the highest level. They understand what it takes to compete with the big boys as the requirements necessary to win at the highest level in every facet of the game. Both Florida State and Clemson run their program like the SEC does and we all know how their programs have elevated themselves. We are now on that same path with equally if not more to sell to recruits. More hires to come and would guess more SEC guys on the way.

Perhaps it's also because it's the conference he's most familiar with and has seen the opposing coaches before....

It's a great idea and smart way to do business. He is going to be in utter shock when he dives into Coastal Divisional play and see's how downright pathetic it truly is. I feel for the guy going from SEC environments to this sht show of a conference.

How about we run our program like Miami?

We shouldn't be trying to copy anyone. Clemson and FSU--especially FSU--will always be pretenders.

yeah because FSU won the title 2 years ago, was in playoff last year and can you remind me of where Clemson is this year?

Really just a garbage post. FSU became prominent by copying Miami. They blatantly tried to steal our entire persona and style of play. Now they are doing the same thing with Alabama. And Clemson is no different in thay they are trying to copy the top SEC programs. So they can win all they want but they'll never be trendsetters.

Miami has set trends in college football for the last 30 years, with the exception of the last 12ish. And even during that time, we still had players like Sean Taylor that changed how schools recruit a position. Let's hope Richt brings something unique to the program that people want to copy again.

Dude, the internet is out. There is no secret group of players to recruit anymore. Trendsetters? Lol how about we just win?

Do you want to be a trendsetter or win? You admitted in your own post that FSU is following an SEC model after referring to my post as garbage. The SEC has the winning model now whether you like it or not. If Richt can bring us Bama's dynasty but we aren't trendsetters then I will be just fine watching the titles roll in while you are still hung up on trendsetting. Would rather have team titles than individual studs like Sean Taylor that redefine how a position is recruited. Who gives a rats *** about how it's recruited anyway? Give me titles

So of the 30 years you noted as UM having "set trends" (whatever the fak that means), 40% (divide 12 by 30) of those years were an "exception." In other news, the last 43 years the Miami dolphins win championships with the exception of the last 40. Just more hyperbolic gibberish from a potato fan base. No one cares who steals what, who copies what, nobody has copied anything related to UM football since 1992, pure dip****tery. UM football is mid-table program in a bad football conference that for over 11 years has been all bark and no bite. It is a mockery, a pathetic program, that draws laughter, and even worse draws sympathy. Lets actually be competitive in the ACC before start worrying about who is copying us, setting trends, and pretending to be an elite program. If we can look anything like almost ANY SEC team, it would be a dramatic improvement from the imbecile coaches and fake-*** ***** players we have had for over 10 years. Run it like Miami? LOL....no thanks.

This thread is dumb becuase Miami set the blue print that SEC teams follow.

validity in your point. on the positive side at least we are going back to it and not running a Big10 overly conservative complex defense with SFla kids.

I would hope people realize, especially those in the SEC, that their "model" was copied and patterned off of/from the success of Miami and FSU from the 80s.
