Searles and Richt's play calling created a false perception about our current OL

The same was said about our Defense until Manny came here and in the 1st year they looked totally differnet
The talent was vastly different though, **** on Golden all you want for his defensive scheme but he brought in some talent on the D line that helped Miami in a huge way.

Is it great? No. Is it dog****? No. The truth lies somewhere in the middle and square peg/round hole playcalling did not do them any favors
I don’t disagree that playcalling didn’t help them but the interior OL is scary bad, Tackles are the only spot where you can a little confidence but if Kennedy or Scaife got hurt...

I’m not sure what you were watching but Donaldson didn’t look dominant at all last season. He needs to shape up because he looked fat and lazy from the get go. LG and C are holy ****ed In the *** bad, we don’t know if Gaynor is a beast come on now, and that LG position didn’t get fixed any.

Donaldson looked incredibly poorly coached. He couldnt pull on a run play to save his life

**** just look at UF. The same 5 OL that looked like garbage in 2017 were dominant in 2018 because they got a new S&C coach, new OL coach, and actual offense.

People **** on Richt/Searles, then act like our OL cant get better with new coaching. I dont get it

Please. McIntosh and Norton were nobodies until Manny got a hold of them.

Same can be said of many DBs.

Part of playing OL (all positions really) is having that dog in you. Sometimes it takes the right coaching to bring it out. Last regime was overhyping grades. Example: one of our OL dudes was constantly pointed out as grading out the highest. Why? His technique was actually pretty good. Smart kid who would get to the right place most of the time. Problem is he lacked that dog. The kind you're born with or you're not. He'd do most everything correctly, but get his *** knocked into the backfield. He either doesn't have "it" or coaches didn't get it out of him. S&C issue to some extent as well. Gotta fix it all. Starts next week in weight room. Culture shift. Intensity. Gotta have coaches getting on that *** this winter and spring. Find out who our dudes are and play them. No more soft ****. Oh yeah, and recruit.

McIntosh was highly regarded when he committed to Miami, just needed to fill into his position and a lot of people liked Norton as well. Y’all can twist everything to fit your beliefs but the talent was there on defense for Miami when Diaz came in he just was able to get most out of them. Your hoping for the same on Oline but where’s the talent?

We don’t have the same five OL coming into the next season, we literally don’t know what we have in the interior line outside of Donaldson but again he has a lot to prove as well.

Bro our Oline is dog **** let’s not deny it.

This is possible Ive seen this happen, so the OP is not reaching. This sometimes happen under new regimes where the same OL looks godly. Look at the Colts **** look at anywhere Harbaugh goes........**** look at UF they were garbage a year ago.

We have some talent on the Oline it's just how they were utilized and the scheme they were put into. I'm not saying they're world beaters but we can he what we need too out of them next season while continuing to recruit to what Enos envisions the offense being

Our OLs have been dogshyt for years. This isn't unique to Richt or Searles. Rewatch the Savannah State game or any other short yard possession over the last decade and a half and get a clue.

No doubt!! But, that doesn't mean we don't have talent there for our coaches to shape into a serviceable squad.
Well, I think our young guys are talented. They should be stepping up this year. I.E. Reed, Campbell, Gaynor, Scaife, Donaldson. Time for these youngsters to eat!!!

Couldn't run that well vs Savannah St either
Yeaaa the OP tripping. When u get pushed around up front like we did at times u can’t blame coaching except if your saying they need to recruit that part of the roster better

I will respectfully disagree. Getting beaten at a point of attack, but having proper technique and discipline won't happen often against well coached teams that aren't stacked with 5 stars. And for the record, we have a bunch of highly recruited players, they just haven't been coached properly. They have 8 months with the new S&C coach, the OL coach and the OC to get this figured out. I think they will. Then, if we're able to win 10 or more games for 2 or 3 seasons in a row, you will see us stock that OL with BAMA-like talent.

How many of our Olinemen would play at Bama?
No technique tweaks wouldn’t help st.lousi at POA..wouldn’t help guathier who was a guard playing center.
I’ll say this, most coaches teach the same ****. Especially on the oline. Does coaching matter, of course. But the likelihood is a good to great oline coach probably wouldn’t recruit the guys we have except for Donaldson, scaife, and maybe reed. Starts with evaluations for me. Everybody has a plan until they step on the field and get punched in the mouth
