There a few good high school players in Brooklyn, NY also that is home to ASA JUCO and 20 miles down the road is Nassau JUCO. So he could be showing his face and reintroducing the Miami brand to Brooklyn, NY. Back in the day Miami pulled is several high profiled kids out of Brooklyn high schools.

I notice that all of these new coaches recruit, not just the select few as we are used to seeing down here.

Nassau is where I think Heutruelou went. Vinny Testaverde was from LI. In the early 2000's, we had some good players from NJ and NY.

very few players have we taken from the metro nyc area. Vinny and steve mcguire both came out of fork union after a pg year. leon williams. robert bass went to nassau cc. nassau cc used to be a top juco back then. they really fell of the map as far as producing players is concerned.

Damned pleased they on top players for 2016 and the future. This is how a real recruiting strategy and area assignments should be. Their efforts will pay off!

what about tyrell chavis Nassau

That ship sailed and was then lost at sea! Chavis should have committed to Golden's staff back when he had the chance, but instead got a big head with all the recruiting buzz that came from other schools once it got out Miami was recruiting him. Thing is Miami's offer was genuine but the others schools offers were not committable an now he is plan C for those schools and Miami has changed its defensive philosophy which doesn't ideally fit him. This is why he is still uncommitted, where as most JUCO's have committed and enrolled for spring at their perspective schools.

So I wish him well and onto the next.
