Search your soul and answer honestly: can Richt win a ship?

Nice man, decent man, consistent, and a very good coach but I’m not sure he’s championship Caliber at a Miami level. Some will call me a troll and that’s fine, but I have concerns. I think the guy is a 9-10 win coach -which is AWESOME if you’re Michigan or Georgia, but Miami is just different. That won’t work here.

I WANT to believe, but I just don’t know. I see many things that’s concerning (schottenheimer styled playcalling, mediocre defense)

All these psychological observations about “killer instinct” and past UGA history and Antsy Boogers statistical folderol is all just so much bullshīt.

It all boils down to these 2 things.

1. Can Rick/coaches recruit and develop enough high quality players all over, including QB
2. Can he recruit enough high quality level depth

If he does, he’s a good enough coach to win a ship. With multiple seasons of top recruiting talent in the 2-3 deep, we’ll be in the playoffs

Recruiting and depth - not complicated

I think he can talent his way to a NC but not coach his way.

Think Butch Davis.

If Jimbo Fisher can win one so can Ritch.
It's all about finding the right QB. If he's lucky enough to find the one then everything else will fall into place.

Yep easiest path to the ACCCG as we will now have a unreal talent edge in our favor compared to our coastal mates... Then he faces the juggernaut of probably the 3 toughest games being Clemson that year(if its not a down year for them), followed by the two playoff games.

We just got boot stomped by PITT....just sayin'.

lol - who coaches their way to an NC without talent...dumb post

dumb post

Richt might can recruit enough studs to win despite his coaching flaws. It's really not that hard to keep up, brock.

Ok genius, explain your original post. Doesn’t even matter if it’s about Rick. The premise is laughable. It implies you can coach your way with lesser talent to a ship. Who’s done that? Try nobody.

And Butch Davis? What NC did he win?

Tried searching for my soul, but my stomach blocked my view.
But that's OK, haven't seen my pinga in 17 years because of stomach.
I can see my toes when I lift my feet though.

Richt was my #1 choice for Miami even before he left Georgia and became available. I wanted Richt more than Chip Kelly or Gruden or any of the other big name coaches that dudes on Canesport would talk about.

Dude was made for this job.

Mark Richt is one of the truly elite coaches in college football. His record speaks for itself.

He's proving me right, too. He won the Walter Camp Coach of the Year award this year.... and earned every bit of it for winning 10 games with a totally depleted roster. He's recruiting like an absolute beast.

If he finishes out this recruiting class with just the guys we lead with - Nesta, Briggs, Chatman, Chatfield, Ezzard, Goss, and possibly Campbell - that will be a top 3 class and it will blow away everybody else in the ACC by a mile.

He's building a champion here. Anyone who knows what they're looking at can tell you that. It's going to be very bad news for the rest of college football.

He was my #1 as well. Richt will bring us #6 and hopefully more
