Search for New Position Coaches

I’m not too concerned about the DB coach, I trust Hetherman, Taylor and Mario to identify someone who they can mesh and build with.

Not concerned about RB coach - with Mario and Mirabel coaching up that Oline, rb coaches should be salivating about coaching up guys to run behind their lines.

TE coach on the other hand, is the one I’m not concerned with as much as I’m interested in. At the moment, TEs have never been a big part of Dawson’s offense, going back to his UH days (the ONE season of Arroyo aside). I think we got a couple of guys that can be the next Arroyo (looking at Briggs specifically), but developing needs to be a big trait in the new guy.
Not only that, but Mario used to coach TEs along in with OL if I remember correctly.

Didn’t realize it was being discussed before commenting in another thread. **** is unlistenable at this point. Idk if dude thinks he’s being funny or what but god**** it’s like listening to a 14 year old.
This is one of the reasons I was surprised DMoney put Pete on. I remember bout 5 or 6 years ago this whole board hated Pete. I remember one thread In specific everyone was goin in on him. Idk his personality is kind of out there.

NFL really bringing in a whole new wave of college coaches

From what I understand w the new climate of college athletics, particularly football, a lot of these guys want out. Talked to my boy a couple of weeks ago whose cousin in on The Chargers staff…heard a lot of college guys r, per his words, sick of this ****. The time, the grind, the recruiting both off season & now in season…it’s overwhelming.

It’s one thing when u’re a HC making $5m+/yr, but it’s a whole different matter when an assistant making a couple of $100k.

As a former addict I'd bet my left nut ole Petey boy be on them percs it's obvious
When pete panics, I've learned it is usually either a troll or just pure ignorance. When he's high, he's usually late to the party. Not even sure why he's still around.

I'm happy these guys are all elevating their own resumes for sure but let's not forget that Mario isn't an easy guy to work for either. His reputation is known. The turnover and lack of continuity on his staffs will probably always be pretty high except for the lifers/diehard Miami guys. Not everybody is cut out for Mario's grind and working for him will always be a stepping stone job for some guys. It's reality but can be a good problem to have if executed right.
Agree. D$ said this could be the reality on the last pod that there could be staff turnover every two or three years because Mario demands recruiting at a certain level.

There are pros and cons to this. Cons are you are constantly going through the hiring process every two seasons. You aren’t going to hit on every hire so the wrong couple of hires can set your program back.

There are pros as you get fresh new blood ready to prove himself and you should be able to attract quality candidates based this playoff run and you will always be set up to succeed as your position group likely has top talent

Coach JB says this a lot, and it's the absolute truth. Currently, the pro game is MUCH easier to deal with then the college game

I just wanted to say this, and I understand how much different things are today with the NIL and transfer portal, but we should really appreciate guys like Don Soldinger and Art Kehoe who literally had to be pried away from Miami. They loved the progra and the city. Nothing would pull them away from being on the Miami staff

Coach Soldinger told me he he made more money as the head coach at Southridge than he did at UM. But he said he had no regrets -- he loved this program. It was never about the money with him

He could've gone to Dallas with Jimmy Johnson, but he was a man of Miami -- the city and the school. He just couldn't do it.

I wish nothing but these coaches who left us the best of luck. I appreciate their contributions to our program. But this really makes me appreciate guys like Soldinger and Kehoe

And in that sense, Im glad we have Mario -- he's a Miami guy
