Has there ever been any conversation about adding him to the ring of honor or retiring his number here?

I realize we can't retire the number of all the All-Americans we had here because we wouldn't have any numbers left but this guy should have his number retired simply for his performance against FSU alone.

We should but too many kids grow up wearing that number just because of him. **** I was rocking 26 for a minute before I switched to 36. We should honor him some way but keep the number open just to keep his name alive.

If I'm not mistaken, I think you need to be a graduate to be inducted into the Ring of Honor. That said, I think the best way to honor Sean would be to erect a statue of Sean intercepting a pass being thrown by a statue of Chris Rix.

I been saying that for years ant nobody gone rep that 26 like ST. If we get a new stadium his number should be hung up opening day.

This would be epic!

I understand a lot of kids where 26, if it's retired it could be one of those things where kids have to ask permission to where the number, like USC west does with #20 . There are a lot of guys worthy of being honored like Dan Morgan, Ken Dorsey, **** this list could get real long. I think it would mean a lot for kids to be wearing those numbers.

I thought Chris Rix WAS a statue.

I know Jenkins needs to take 26 off especially after he was sitting their just hugging the RB from cincy leg like a ******* poodle.

I am not for retiring numbers in most circumstances but #26 should never be worn by anyone at the University of Miami, ever again.

In all honesty we would run out of numbers if we retired all of the numbers of guys worthy of that distinction. Sean Taylor is a guy that we need to immortalize in some fashion. Kid was a superstar at UM and was a Beast in the NFL, he needs to be honored by the University.

I agree. Sean is a special situation that warrants retiring the number for sure. I mean as it is, UM did NOTHING for Sean after his death. They had to hold the ******* service at FIU for crying out loud. The way UM handled that whole situation was nothing short of disgusting, but I guess that was par for the course under Shalala.

I'm opposed to retiring any numbers. I'd like to see the un-retire the ones that are. Erect a statue, name something after those guys, just don't retire numbers.

If you want to honor the number, assign it to deserving seniors and let the team vote on what senior gets to wear it. That way it's a living tribute.

I've always thought, b/c we've had so many great players here wearing various numbers that these numbers should be held in esteem. Basically they should be earned to be worn; as a couple of examples, if you're the next great safety, u should be honored with the Number 26. If you're the next great LB, you should be honored with the number 52. If your the next great DT, you should be honored with the number 76....etc. That way the legacy of those numbers would be continued on. But I don't think just anyone should be able to wear those numbers....it would bring a different type of honored tradition to play at the U. Just a thought.

I posted this same thought right after you. I totally agree with you.

I agree that we have too many number to retired because of all of our dope players. I agree that ST is one of the most fearsome safeties ever.... But am I the only one who would retire Ed Reed's Jersey before his?

I think Taylor needs to be honored first because he has passed away and the school never did anything to memorialize him.
