Sean Taylor

I always felt he was a combination of Lott, Ed and Steve Atwater.
To me Reed is the goat safety that’s an unbiased opinion. Peyton Manning once said Ed was the smartest defensive player he’s ever played against. Sean could’ve been even better…

Sean was better as an overall football player. When Clinton Portis was here going into 01 season he said he was watching film on the incoming recruits and seen footage of Sean at RB running circles around guys and jumping over defenders. Coaching staff was like chill out man he’s coming to play safety…

Sean’s the most complete football player I’ve ever seen. A create a player on a video game type athlete. Not seen anyone like him since and doubt I ever will again.

Either Sean was under the radar, or Lemming was a hater, Seans nowhere near His top 100 recruits. Lemming seemed like He was an early 2K version of Finebaum for FSU:

100% NFL never seen anything like it and probably never will again.

Every time a big bodied safety with freakish athleticism comes around they get compared to Sean. Taylor Mays comes to mind but he had no where near the skill set of Sean.

Craziest thing is Sean likely could’ve been a pro bowl running back!
Sean Taylor would be a scary offensive weapon in today’s spread offenses. Would have been great in his own time too. Always wished he’d had a small set of plays where he’d line up at WR along with Dre, Roscoe, and KW2, or who we had in 2003. Not to take away from his DB time, but just get the ball in his hands 2-3-4X a game maybe.

RIP

Sean could have played every position on the field except Dline/Oline

Sean wasn’t ranked that high because he was at Gulliver Prep. Had he stayed at Killan and or played for MNW, Carol City, Central etc… he would’ve been a top player. Back then players didn’t get the publicity they do today.

In todays world he would’ve been a 1.000 national #1 overall recruit. Still the best overall football player I’ve ever seen.

Sean was a three star going into his senior year but plenty of schools knew about him because Buck Ortega was considered a blue chip prospect. As I have said previously, Iowa state and Clemson were going after him hard.

still the greatest performance in a HS state championship game i think ive ever seen. played both ways and just dominated. i have it on VHS somewhere lol
Marianna was loading the box so Gulliver went to shotgun with Sean split out wide.

Best play in that championship was Sean jumping up and down wide open in the end zone for a good 10 seconds trying To get buck’s attention. Once he caught it he looked more frustrated than happy lol

I remember that… looked like he was throwing a tantrum

It's pretty complicated to turn analog to digital tbh. You'd need a vcr obviously, a capture card, some cables, and the software.

i have an attic full of crates, Cane games from 80's 90's and all the old annual HS highlight tapes of the recruits you'd have to order through the mail (before internet and youtube) tons of state championship games; all the Georgia vs Florida HS ALL Star games, the Cali vs Florida games all of that **** and id like to clear all that out and upload it, but sounds like a ton of work

Well You could see if your local library has a VCR-Capture card setup for use, which would be free. But doing that for dozens of tapes may not be worth it.

But otherwise if you want to actually do it yourself, yeah probably decently time consuming to actually get everything figured out. But if you're fine with it not being excellent quality or anything you could probably do it for relatively cheap at the end of the day. Like don't expect to turn it into an HD digital copy and not to have some issues.

For something basic you'd just need a good VCR (this is where the majority of the quality will come from) ideally with S-Video output, and video capture card or adapter to usb to plug into pc. The Software will be free. So up to like $150-200? Which over like 20 VHS copies is really not that much...

This is actually a solid video I watched on this where he walks how to do it. If you just follow his steps and aren't tech-illiterate when it comes to using a PC, it's not too bad...
