Sean Gleeson is vague about OkSt future in Post Game Interview

FWIW, in 2019, Ok State was:

40th nationally, in PPG (32.5)

24th in Total Offense (453.9)

49th in first downs (22)

80th in fewest TO (1.5)

73rd in passing yards (224.3)

17th in rushing yards (229.6)

28th in fewest penalties (5.2)

All figures provided are per game averages.

My thoughts: balanced attack consistent with what's been written about Gleeson online. Good team discipline. OL would remain a concern given the obvious emphasis on the run game. He wouldn't have the OL that OK State has, which was the same problem Enos ran into.

Also don't see why he would come here. He finally broke into the big leagues with OK State, had a decent first year there, which he can build on in year two. Why would he leave the sure thing he has going in OK State, or a potential opportunity to go back to his home state as Rutgers' OC, to come to this fiasco??

If we are in fact connected to him, my guess is he is leveraging us to get more money out of OK State or Rutgers.

To me what's the most important stat is they were #17 in rushing, if he went to princeton, that guy more than likely can think, the biggest thing after that will be culture fit, joe brady went to william & Mary, plus he's from here, so we know he can think and he knows football!

A career move to Rutgers makes no sense unless Gleason is content raising a family near home. Even if allowed to run his offense he’s at one of the worst teams in the P5. Schiano has the experience to bring improvement but he’s not coaching against the old Big Least anymore. The team is barely competitive in the Big10, winning only five or six conference games since joining.

Miami needs an innovative, young OC hungry to prove himself and move up to HC in college or move up to the NFL. The Canes have the potential to provide the athletes to give such a coach that opportunity.

The other thing to consider here is that Gleeson is literally running Mike Gundy's offense not his own playbook. So leaving OK State's would allow him to run his offense after having earned a pseudo 1yr masters in the spread offense under Mike Gundy. Coming to Miami would make the most sense in giving Gleeson offensive autonomy and access to speedy southern athletes. Not to mention he can hold UM hostage for a 100% guaranteed $1MM\yr three year deal due to Diaz being a potential lame duck.

Not to mention the talent is already in place for him to compete for the conference championship in year one.

Also another thing to consider is that OkSt's QB Dru Brown is 5'11" so that speaks to installing a uptempo spread offense that Tate Martell can thrive in. Supposedly Tate is the most studious guy in the QB room.

Sounds like Tate Martell to UM 2.0

Word is they are going to be installing barn doors on the practice field to see if they can get Martell to hit one

Get Martell throwing lanes, he is short so downfield vision is a problem throwing from a static pocket.

Good reasons for any young up an coming OC to come to UM ? 1).Manny has to give u complete control of the Offense cause he dont know Jack sh%#t ,2)if you are successful with the offense u get to be the head coach in a year or so,3)1.5milli plus and no state tax

He's Coming home... Been in the works way before the season ended... Schiano had his guys before he got hired...

He has a 158.8 rating and a 100% completion rate in actual games here.

Word is that once they start moving, NONE of the QBs can hit them.
