Scott Patchan

Wishing Patchan the best of luck. Go get 1st team reps son, and hopefully it increases your shot at the league. Ain’t going to hate on SP when he knew he’d never see the field but for mop up duty here.

Makes no sense, forgetting his brother, this is a Cane legacy on his dad and uncle side. We just provided ships to 5 walk-ons, SP might have been 3rd team but useful, but why not finish at the U? Not sure if we have the entire story here. His father was a bad *** back in the day.
The story is right in front of you. The staff was obviously not very high on him. Otherwise, they don't go after Roche. After bringing in 2 grad DEs in consecutive years, the message was pretty clear given how deep our DE group is.

Other than pure love of playing time, just makes no sense.
Well, yeah. What good is playing football if you don't get actual playing time? His opportunities to see the field here seem to be very limited. He doesn't have time to wait and see what develops at UM. This makes perfect sense to me. He wants to play, not just practice.

He went where he can start and not be the 3-4 option. Seems he saw the writing on the wall with guys passing him.

Story is pretty clear.

He doesn’t think the team will win big enough for him to be a back-up. So, he’s gonna go someplace he can start and enjoy the college experience.

It's not like CSU has Sonny Lubick at the helm. CSU was 4-8 last year. I doubt Scott had a lot of options and probably few if any at a Power 5 school. I do wish him the best and hope he finishes out well.

That’s two legacy 5th year guys who are transferring out. I’m not going to blame a guy who wants to spend his final season actually playing. There’s a good chance Patchan and Irving will never play football again after college. They put in four years here but weren’t quite good enough to start. Selfish fan in me wants the third string depth but the human being in me understands why they want to give it a go somewhere else for one last season.

You have no idea what you're are talking about, so you should respectfully stop speculating.

3rd string depth? Come on bro. A 5th Sr at 3rd string is a death sentence for them. If anything we want our 3rd string DEs to be the young guys like Blissett, CWilliams, QWilliams and Cam Williams. Not a 5th year guy.

That said, no hard feelings from my end. He gave us 5 years of his career and he went to a team that was a non-rival and a team that he can get PT. No need to hate on the kid.

(and to the poster who said that Patchan didn't think we would win big I think that is way off. If anything, this is the year you want to enjoy this ride. With King at QB, the sky is the limit for the first time in this program in over a decade)

wish the guy the best, had some injuries which robbed him of his explosive first step
always showed up and competed unlike some of our more heralded recruits

When your program is 10 under the scholarship limit, third string depth, at any position is a luxury. Patchan would have been a more than serviceable reserve end. I still don't blame the guy for wanting to go somewhere he'll play.

The Cane legacies haven’t worked out very well lately, but Patchan has been the best of the recent group. Irvin is leaving without having done much and Feagles, well...you know. Maybe Al Blades, Jr will be the one to really break out.

I will definitely root for Patchan unlike Lingard's ***** *** who chose to go to one of our most hated rivals.

Good luck to Patchan and Irvin Jr.

It speaks volumes that 2 Sr legacies are trying to get as far away from Mandy as possible.

Yes they want playing time, but if we weren't such a joke of a program right now, both or at least one might have stuck it out knowing this was their life long dream and neither has a real shot at the NFL.

Can't wait till we get rid of Blake and Manny, and get a real coach (who has actually played the **** game), and an AD who is more than a beta bean counter.

And if it takes some early losses to teams we should beat to rip the band aid off quicker, so be it.

Just like Golden losing to Clem$on was the best thing for our program at the time, a loss to Temple could be the best thing for the future of our program, even if that means sacrificing another season in the process.

We already sacrificed this epic 2021 class with our clown show last season, no matter how this season ends up, b/c now ever since the early signing period, most of the elite kids (especially the ones not on the take b/c everyone knows January is bag season) get locked up before the season starts, and we won't be able to show these kids that we are legit especially with no game worth a **** on our schedule till Clem$on pushes our **** in once more.

Then hoping to build off the good season we are all expecting this year against the worst schedule I have ever seen we will blow the 2022 class with pretty much 2 games (Clem$on raping us in the ACC Championship and opening the season with a new QB against Baga for another raping) proving to all the elite kids that we can never hang with the big boys.

At least we should have 2 top 3 round picks for the first time since Mandy got here in 2016 (GR15 and Brevin)...

These coaches can't develop ****...

Manny's ceiling is the coastal 100%...

Even though that beta snake oil salesman said the "coastal was the floor for last season"....

Winning enough games to keep Manny here will keep us mediocre forever, and if you can't see that, you have your head in the sand or have as much knowledge about football as our ***** made AD.

Do you honestly think Manny Diaz will be the first HC who never played the game to win a NC?

If not, then lets hire someone that actually gives us a shot, instead of just hoping Manny is the next Dabo like a bunch of idiots.

With last season Mandy dropped the bar to the floor, so now anything he does will be seen as an improvement by some of you morons hoping he will become something he can't.

Again, sorry to be so "negative" (real) during spring with all this fake off-season hype getting everyone excited that gets pumped every year around this time, but we are now a dead program letting some politician's son who has never played football in his life try to learn to be a HC of a major college football program at our expense, destroying our culture and further burying this program we all love.

RIP The U...

Now tell me how miserable of a person I must be, or that I must be fun at parties etc...

Life has been great outside of my Canes that always seem to let me down for almost 2 decades now outside of a fools gold season (2017).

Yes I take this **** too seriously as I'm sure many on this board do, maybe I should stop caring so much, but I can't.

**** you Blake James!

**** you straight to ****!

The story is simple ....A lot of talent ahead of him and he wants to play. So he transfers to a school he can start at
