Scott Frost To Nebraska Done Deal Already?

Seems a bit unfair to both schools really. Plenty of time to talk about coaching hires - this is their Championship Game for all the marbles.

Meh. It was a national game on ABC with two team that have zero national appeal. No one cares about Memphis or Central Florida. Biggest storyline of the game (for the casual observer, which was most who tuned in) was Scott Frost to Nebraska.

Plus, Brian Griese is a lunkhead. Surprised he could even form a sentence during the broadcast.

Loved his statement that Central Florida would've been No. 8 if the BCS still existed; instead of No. 14, playing nobody and beating No. 20 in their conference title game. Nice logic, idiot.

And I don’t imagine Nebraska has the same admission standards Northwestern has.

Frost will get good guys to go there. And I think he’ll be challenging Wisconsin within his first few years for the West title.

The facilities and fan support in Lincoln, Nebraska are 2nd to none.

Gonna be interesting to see what type of players Frost tries to recruit into Nebraska, that system is tough to install in the Big 10 West.

Fitzgerald's doing alright with it.

LOL...last week's USF vs UCF game was a hit for ABC, & this game will probably beat those ratings:

According to ESPN, the contest did a 3.2 overnight, which registered as the third best Black Friday 3:30 p.m. game on ABC dating back to 2002.

The game, which saw the No. 15 Knights defeat the Bulls in a 49-42 thriller, was also up 45 percent from the same 3:30 p.m. time slot last year that ironically featured UCF coach Scott Frost’s alma mater Nebraska versus Iowa. The Hawkeyes defeated the Cornhuskers 40-10 last year.

Orlando, which hosted the rivalry game at Spectrum Stadium, was the top local market with an 11.1, followed by Tampa, which had 10.1.

I'm shocked that Frost would take the NU job, even if he is an alum. Say what you want about some of the other jobs open, NU is a job in which the odds of satisfying the fanbase is almost impossible. There is no local talent pool there, and kids have options now, most of them want to play somewhere that isn't pure misery. Will Frost make Nebraska better? Probably, but I don't think that program will ever be what they were 30 years ago. Times have changed, and programs like Nebraska have been left behind. Good luck convincing elite athletes to move to Lincoln in the 21st century.
