Schools Scheduling their own TV contracts exclusive of conference TV Deal

Seems like it can only be done for OOC neutral site games. Seems easier to do for basketball, but football could go that route as well. Just not as many opportunities and does the extra $$$ outweigh having a home game instead?

And both Conferences may already have built in relationships with each streamer and have let their media partners know this is the plan so get with the program or lose out. The added inventory with a 24 team CFP will also add to this. Especially with the sport looking to diversify partners to extract most value similar to NFL model instead of allowing espn to monopolize. 2030 and lead up to it will have a ton of horse trading.

I'll put it this way:

The fact that I cannot stream every Miami game out of Europe in 2026 is an absolute disgrace to ESPN and the ACC Network.

I couldn't give a flying **** if schools decided to make their own deals. More power to them.

Beyond settled.

Don’t know.. not apart of their technical integration team. All I know that was enough for me to be good on them when it comes to live sports.

I'm just joking around with you, giving you a hard time, but I have no doubts that Amazon will get its **** together by the time we need them to do so.

1. Uhh, shouldn't the Big Ten direct 50% of its disapproval at Michigan?

2. Why would the B1G (read: FOX) believe it owns the rights to a Michigan non-conference game in DC?

Either way, Duke and ESPN's relationship sure seems cozy. Wonder how that dynamic plays out when the ACC collapses and the Blue Devils need a new conference? 😏

2. In their agreement, they must take turns showcasing games that are played in “shared territory,” such as New York City. Michigan and Duke played on ESPN this past season.

ESPN disputes this because they state the Duke-Michigan game in Washington was a swap for swap because Duke played Illinois the year prior on Fox.

Gotta figure media rights holders will do a much better job in their contracts of eliminating any and all gray area to where schools they're paying hundred$ of million$ can find workarounds to their own significant financial benefit.

No doubt to me that Duke is in the bag for ESPN. Starting to think more and more that we will be as well once the smoke clears from the ACC's collapse.

The Miami brand is hot again. Bad business sense to let go of that property while also allowing rivals in the college sports space (The B1G and FOX) to plant their flags in the nation's third most populous state.

You can always make the money good enough to where SEC school presidents will collectively forget whatever concerns they may have
