Schiano

Greg Schiano covered up his players in Tampa Bay having life threatening MRSA and then attempted to blame them for it. The administration would sooner higher a convicted *** offender before they hired Greg Schiano.

Good defenses though.

He's the same thing as Golden....except a bigger meathead.

Guido from the Northeast that speaks in coach-speak platitudes that built a reputation on being a defensive coordinator that coasted on the talent he was coaching and then turning a ****ty program into a mediocre program.

Got run out of Tampa after a near-player mutiny.

Hard pass.

Yeah, the thing that jumped out at me was he coached under Joe Pa and has one of his TIES. Combination of tie and psu was too much from my stomach.

True Cane? Uh, no.

Don't want.

Anyway, Golden will be our coach next year unless Iowa St. lures him away.

I agree that he will most likely be here next year. But unlike with this fan base, he is still respected around the coaching community, so he will have some options (esp. if we win out)

No way Golden gets another HC job at real D1 school. They like him the way we like Mushchump. Want him to stay here to keep us down.

you mean the mutiny in tampa where they were playing worse now then when coached by schiano???? Bucs problems go way deeper the schiano. He is a great DC but HC would be a whole different situation at a school like miami. He would have to have Grade A coordinators.

Schiano is a Cane at heart from his previous success here and he's a DAMNED FINE college coach. I would stake my reputation he'll be as successful here as Jimbo at FSU!

Wasn't he here for only one year, if so than I doubt you can call him a Cane lol

He did one thing right at Rutgers... he recruited the **** out of SFL. Dude was bold, remember the Rutgers billboards? He even held camps in Dade and organized SFL HS coach "visits" to NJ.

RE: OP
No... Next.

didnt this guy turn us down and let us get stuck with shannon. dont want

Not sure your position on Gorlden, but didn't Gorlden try to sneak out to PSU while he was Miami's head coach?
If it's a loyalty issue, Schiano was loyal to the school he was HC. Gorlden was not.

That said, Schiano wouldn't be my first choice but almost anyone hired by an nfl franchise as. HC is not a shtty coach. We could do far worse.

I'd go (setting aside Patterson and stoops bc we won't pay that much)

Butch
Rich Rod
Cutcliff
Chud
Holgersen
Schiano

He turned around Rutgers but Golden also turned around Temple so.......

GS didn't turn around Rutgers by dropping to a lower conference as AG did. Unlike the MAC, the big east was a BCS conference, which is much harder to compete in for a program like Rutgers.

No, he was just 2-19 in his first three seasons in the Big East when Miami and Virginia Tech were in the conference. He went 1-5 his fourth year with BC still in the conference. He was 25-24 in the worst BCS conference the next 8 years. And this is not to defend Golden. The point here is there is absolutely no guarantee that Schiano would be successful at Miami.

Greg Schiano is the guy you hire when you need to turn an abysmal program into a respectable one. I respect the **** out of what he did at Rutgers, but I witnessed this guy get WORKED by Brian Kelly yearly. I really don't think he can get a program to 10 wins on the regular.

Butch - for the last time, brilliant talent evaluator, mediocre coach. And he won't be HC here.
Rich Rod - seriously? At Miami?
Cutcliff - tremendous coach. A fit at Miami? Maybe.
Chud - good god. Why? Other than he is a Cane?
Holgersen - brilliant offensive mind and a time bomb.
Schiano - very good defensive mind and a time bomb.

Good defense in the big east lol.
**** sure wasn't good here with the bucs.

Plus he had a hard on for Mike Glennon at Rutgers that lasted to drafting him in the pros.... Bad talent evaluator... Filed the bucs roster with Rutgers guys for the worse because NONE of them are here now. Which leads me to believe he is all kinds of stubborn
