Waaaaay too soon for that. I don’t see the burst necessary to be RB1.

Brown may also come back next year. Then you have whoever else is recruited or transfers. No clue about Lyle so hard to say with him.

Same as next years QB….no clue if they are currently on this roster. It’s not even worth looking at dirtier years anymore with NIL and transfers. Got to go year to year just like the NFL. You have to win when you do have them pieces in place

I agree overall. Mallory is the RB I see as having the highest odds of being on the roster next year. I also agree with the current lack of burst, but for a true freshman he seems very crisp in all other aspects of the game, especially on those outside runs and check downs.

What do you think about what Mallory brings to the table for us this year?
 
I'm taking the win vs solid team(meaning not a G5) on the road a long way away.
I expect some significant improvement on the O-line in the coming weeks.
The defense does not surprise me, they'll be closer to '24 than '25 IMO, but nowhere near where it's a concern, the offense will only get better which should scare the **** out of our opponents.

I think he can be a solid number 2 RB who wears on teams late in the game.
 
Like I said in the other thread. There’s absolutely no reason why 2nd and 3rd stringers shouldn’t see plenty of time these first 2 months. Miami is head and shoulders above the rest of this ****** schedule aside from ND. Clemson is *** even at Home and should be a beating the way Dabo did to Golden all those years ago. Wake honestly might be the best team in the first 6 games but even with them, there’s no reason why Mali and company shouldn’t be sitting on the bench by mid 3rd quarter.

Tap the breaks on a solid team. Stanford was predicted to finish dead last in the ACC. It's a conference road game. Period. The opponent was below average, and Canes did what they had to. Wake will be a better gauge for the OL with a shakeup in the line up before we play or certainly post Wake.

Fletch has that one-cut downhill style, like that Broncos offense in the late 90s. He definitely benefits from stretch plays and pistol.
But, I think it would be done. I think most of it is jitters.

without better run blocking none of our RB's are going to be successful. like I said I don't think any of our RB's are ELITE level guys with NFL futures. They are all good and can make it happen but we need to run block. Having watched every run play in slo-mo, we were getting mauled up front. Not great TBH.

Dude, you are too much! lol Fletcher will play in the NFL and will be a high draft pick. Get real with your takes dude, they are awful!

Yes, indeed.
We have a very talented squad, potentially top 5 by end of year, but folks think this is a video
game.
Wake is very well-coached, I believe their OC worked under Mario at Alabama.
Plus the ACC refs are crooked.
We have a bad week with key players getting injured, anything can happen.
 
I know take it game by game blah blah, but if Miami can be 8-0 and ND undefeated the hype for that game will be off the charts.
These are college kids and anything can happen, few spots worry me along the way. But Halloween in North Carolina 1 week before ND is the biggest spot.
 
Wake Forest saw exactly what most of the fanbase saw on Friday night. An interior o line that appears to have a long way to go. They will do the exact opposite of what Stanford did on Friday night defensively. And wake actually has some dudes unlike Stanford who is the least talented p4 team on our schedule

Will be a tremendous test for our O.

I can already tell you SJ or Buchanan will lose their spot by the Wale game. The line looked different when Cantwell was in. The line has some misses early on but that should get worked out over the next 4 games.

I’ll be interested to see where Pringle fits on this offense and team. He made a poor choice to bring the ball out of the endzone and may already get passed up by Mallory. Pringle needs space which Dawson doesn’t create well for his backs.

Speaking of Dawson and the run game. That was atrocious but Stanford was doing anything they could to stop the run. We need more pistol and stretch plays. It works and has shown to be the best was to get Fletcher going. A gap will not work this year. The IOL is weakkkkkk until Cogdon and Cantwell take over.

These first 4 will let Heatherman learn what he can use JJ for. Kid looks smooth out there. Whoever comped him to Minkah is spot on. Kid can line up anywhere.

Mueller looked like he put on some good weight. Looking forward to his progression.

Dawson and Mensah have so many weapons. Moore and Upshaw also looked good. The top 4 WR are **** good. Barkate is going to eat this year with Mali taking so much attention away.

We are going to need a lot more fromOL and Dl if we want the ship. Love our canes but we need more from these groups. Pretty sure we will get there but yeah moar pls
