Scary thing is the talent is as bad as the coaching

The eye test shows me were so far away thats great we have a great star ratio why have we missed On everyone were so far from competing its not even funny add in that diaz is a horrific recruiter and were in serious trouble how many nfl 1st rounders do we have? On the offense? How many players that will even be drafted we suck

We have a talent problem against Clemson. We don't have a talent problem against Louisiana Tech.

The 2015 defense had 8 guys who are currently in the NFL. They finished 84th. The next year, in a new scheme, they finished 13th. Did they get more talented?

Bad schemes make talented players look stuck in the mud. And bad culture (which starts with the head coach) poisons everything. Unfortunately, we have both problems.

I agree i just dont see the gap between us and la tech just by my eye test

If fairness to manny, after kaaya left his defense was always on the field

The talent is not much better than la tech and the coaching sucks i thought the diaz hire would destroy this program it appears headed that way fast
The talent on the oline is we’re it starts..our skill guys are fine

Don’t forget, the equalizer in the talent gap with la tech is that after our disappointing season, we just didn’t want to be there. Add in the seven talented players on the bench, subtract coaching and you end up with that disaster

Bad coaching can make talent look worse than it actually is. We saw it what Donofrio defense did to those defensive recruits over the years when he was there and we are seeing It offensively with richt/enos the last 2 years. Same situation
When Pastor made that comment that he's using plays that have worked for the last 30 years, I knew he was done.

Other than Greg, brevin, and deejay.. What other players would you guys consider talented?

Pope?
Mallory?
Blades?
Harris????
Bubba may be the only other player who may be considered talented, but got injured.
The rest of them, their ceiling is average to above average.

Are we talking elite talent( ie, can play at Clemson/ OSU/ Bama?) or will maybe make an NFL 53 ?

Elite I would say is Jordan and Rouseau and thats it.

NFl roster maker i would add DJ, Thomas( for speed alone), Ford(?), Shaq, Garvin for sure, he may sneak into the first round with a great tryout, Pinkney maybe ? .....thats about it in terms of production. Lots of young players who were under used this year so maybe theres a few more.

Fine for a middling ACC team. Outside of Brevin, there isn't anyone special. Some decent players, that's it. You can't trot out three or four twinks 6'0 or under and expect the WR's to do much. They get bodied far too much and that disrupts the entire passing game as they aren't ever consistently where they need to be. Lack of length decreases the catch radius and hurts more when the QB's can't consistently fit it into a tight window.

I forgot to say the biggest problem is the OL. It all starts there and to be fair, any QB would struggle some with them blocking. Trickle down effect for sure here.

I’ve been telling y’all we overrate our talent lol..
Wiggins 6-3
Peyton 6-1
Pope 5-11
Harley 5-10
Brevin 6-3
Mallory 6-5
Daz 5-11
Redding 6-1
Restrepo 5-9

we definitely could use another 6’2-6’4 on the outside

Garvin will go 6th or 7th round. Knock it off with "may sneak into the first round."

Thomas isn't getting drafted. His best result will be practice squad.

Ford? LOL. Not even close to a League player.

DJ will stick around.

Shaq and Pinckney are 4-5th round guys who will stick around. Certainly not stars and I doubt regular starters.

Bandy will be a practice squad player.

Rousseau and Jordan will be high picks.

No doubt. Wiggins might have some height, but dude is rail thin.

The last decade has gravitated to bigger receivers who are physical with speed. We missed the boat.

I’ve been a believer in so Fla talent. I’m starting to think it’s cry babies and drama queens. Not a lot of “football players” .
At least players with heart are not located down souf

Yet Tutu Atwell's 5'9" 153# *** put up monster numbers for Louisville...the system sucks.

Now I'm not saying we have Natty talent, but we certainly had enough talent to win 10, maybe 11 games this year...the system sucks.
