Scaife Overrated

hate bashing the kid but he was horrible and sometimes after he gets beat his body language is horrible

All of our Guards are ***, to be honest. But Scaife has been horrible this year. No excuses whatsoever for his subpar performances.

He's a backup T at this point.

Va Tech's D line was strapping a red ball gag on Scaife's mouth the whole game.

There was no pleasure to that pain. lol

He is not a guard. It’s a disservice to him and to us. The timing of this Covid outbreak hurts. He should be benched.

I can't get on board with this.

Tackles kick inside to guard all the time. You don't have the nuance of snaps or reach blocks after snaps at center, or being out on an island against speed at tackle. He's 315 pounds. Very few guys whipping him are bigger than he is. Hewitt for VaTech is 280. He has help on both sides to keep guys in front of him. He may have long arms but the rest of him is built like a guard. It's not just a strength thing because you see him reaching and off-balance a lot as well.....but the strength part is on him if he's not living in the weight room with Feeley.

We are running out of positions to play him. When he was a T his best position was G, now at G his best position is C, there's a pattern here

His best position has never been Guard. They just keep pidgeonholing him there because he's 6'2 1/2. He is a tackle or a center. He's not a brute strength guy and today or since UAB he even seems uncomfortable inside.

I watch the ol closely and I’ve had my eye on 51 the past month , he’s been awful. We’re getting to the point something has to been done. When Campbell and Clark get back we need to make a change.

He hasn’t gotten much of a chance to play tackle, every staff is obsessed with him at guard because of his size. Even though his game is suited for tackle.

Not disagreeing, but at some point he has to play well somewhere. Sh*t he put on tape today was pathetic, he was barely touching the DL 3 feet in front of him, not sure this is a position problem more than a he's not entirely there mentally problem.

I agree that at this point in his career he has played better at T than G, but I remember people saying he should be inside when he started regressing at T. I just think he might be another ghost we are chasing, which it would be sad because he showed real promise as a frosh, just seem like one more player that somehow got worse after years in the program
