I wouldn’t call lane an obvious number one choice over Mario. He’s unprofessional lacks consistent P5 success. Ole miss tenure has been good though.

I was not sold on Lane at 1st for different reasons, but if you pair him with a top notch DC, and some top recruiters or someone to make sure recruiting stays on point, he would be dangerous down here.

At the end of the day we should know exactly where we stand as a program over the next week or so. The blueprint for getting the coach you want is out there, keep offering them more until they say yes.

If Mario is the guy and we want to be in the big leagues we are going to have to overpay for him and make that offer one he can not turn down.
