Watched a bunch of FSU video over the past weekend and week. I don't have the time right now to do a picture breakdown or even provide any kind of legitimate insight (not that I do anyway, but I digress). FSU's run game is completely hit or miss and should be made to bounce outside. Williams' vision is a wreck, as expected. I'll be sick to my stomach if we can't create a stout middle through either run blitzes or, gasp, penetration. If we can hold the edge, and I think we can, it then comes down to balls. Do we have the balls to pressure Winston inside on pass downs? If we miss, we're going to get sliced for chunks of yards. I think this is the perfect situation to be ok with that.

FSU's LBs need to be stretched horizontally in the pass game. We need to use our speed out of the slot to push their Safeties deep and sit routes down behind those verticals. I expect us to attempt a double move on PJ Williams. I expect our OLine will struggle a bit more than we'd like, but it's on Coley to stay cot**** focused.

I almost never put down predictions because I think they're guesses, but I think we should win this game. Yes, I am sober. If it's a trap, so be it. Golden, it's on you, buddy. In any fight, it's the guy who's willing to die...

Boom.

We can't be afraid to give up some big plays. It's going to happen. If Winston has time and we give him easy reads he will absolutely kill us. I've been encouraged what I've seen lately. We haven't been blitzing more frequently, we've been blitzing more efficiently. For a complete walking *****, Winston sure has balls when he's in the pocket. If the read is there the blitz won't get there fast enough. We can't get skittish if he burns us, it will happen.

The player holding the key to victory is Duke Johnson. He's playing the best ball of his career and the OL has played their hearts out. FSU will score so we absolutely have to have a run game that sets up the pass. FSU doesn't have that devastating pass defense aggression like they did last year.

I haven't felt this way about an FSU game in a long time, but it's right there for the taking. These guys on the field are ******* ready. Jimbo is definitely ready. Golden has to match him.

This needs to be a coming out party and you God **** right we better not be afraid. Hit them in the mouth early and keep swinging the whole game.

Lu, always love your stuff... but you typed this while sober? With a straight face?

The first sign of giving up a chunk play I expect the Defense to go into safe mode, any and every OC should do this on their first drive and take a shot at us so we scrap gameplan and play safe no matter what. Nebraska did it, I thought UNC would too, but they always like to start with their horizontal stuff in games...

Lol, at that line though

So you're saying that if we do not win, it's a pretty good indicator of what should happen to Golden? That's my feeling as well. No reason to lose. NONE

Yes FSU is gonna get there points. We need to stop them on 3rd downs and be good on 3rd downs and not turn it over. Like all games this will be won in the trenches

In the tape that you've seen...how are their RB's in protection?

Hey, man, maybe it's a trap, but that's not what I'm hearing from inside the program. Maybe they're being lied to as well.

Ya'll know how I feel about Golden's tendencies and the philosophy he's carried out here over the last few years. It's the exact opposite of what I appreciate and admire. I've questioned whether the guy can be the coach who'll ever consistently win meaningful games. All that said, I think this situation lines up for him…if he's willing to grab it.

"Saturday Victory, Free Haircut Sunday!" (players only)

Sorry, couldn't resist the "Hoosiers" homage. :)

Don't have hardly anything in my notes about their RBs in pass pro. Here's a cut/paste of what a control+F of RB netted re: passing game:

- RBs flare to flats consistently (passing)
- RBs horizontal (passing)
- Lots of fake inside handoffs to RBs who just sit down or chip
- Look for RB Karlos Williams in flats
- Would watch O'Leary/Williams TE/RB combination
- Wheel route RB alert

Guess I wasn't paying close enough attention to what they do in protection schemes.

Got to agree with Lu. We have the team to win this. It is on Al. Can he coach even close to Dumbo? Jimbo would beat the living crap out of his own team with our players.
