Sanders Tears

I'm on record as being a bigtime deon hater. As a massive Hurricane fan who had to live in trailerhassee I developed an abnormal dislike for the most celebrated nole of all time. That being said, I feel really bad for Shedeur. Some of y'all didn't grow up under an overbearing father and it shows. I can't imagine the pressure of growing up under deon and having to live with the camera circus. I usually love it when pride takes a massive fall like this but I can't pile on him. I feel like this is deon's fault and I'll save my 'haha' for him.

I'm going to be the **** in the punch bowl.

The feeling of schadenfreude that most of us are enjoying right now is essentially what Miami haters have been bathing in for 20 years. Overhyped, over-confident, flashy- then taking a huge faceplant.

Also, I can't help but feel a little icky piling on Shedeur at this point. Even if (well, especially if) the immaturity and entitlement rumors are true... Imagine that you grew up with Deion Sanders as your father.
True. I actually feel bad for him right now, his father made him into the man he is.

Slip and slide into that 4th round king !

Here is what people don't understand.

If Shedeur Sanders was SOOOO "can't miss" and such a great QB that any team should want him in the QB room...

---one team thought a tiny CB from Western Kentucky was more necessary (49ers select Upton Stout)
---one team thought an OT from William & Mary was more necessary (Raiders select Charles Grant)
---one team thought DILLON GABRIEL was a better QB fit (Browns)
---one team thought JALEN MILROE was a better QB fit (Seahawks)
---one team thought an OG from West Virginia & a CB from Tulane were more necessary (Jags select Wyatt Milum & Caleb Ransaw back-to-back)
---one team thought a CB from East Carolina was more necessary (Cowboys select Shavon Revel)
---one team thought a FLORIDA STATE player was more necessary (Jets select Azareye'h Thomas, what an outrage!)
---one team from the Motor City bought a TeSlaa instead
---one team took a TIGHT END from BOWLING GREEN
---one team just typed random letters instead (Texans select Aireontae Ersery)

Again, it's easy for the whole "collusion" thing to sound right IN A VACUUM. But these teams are picking guys they could get in the fourth round instead of taking the "Best QB in the draft" and "Top 5 pick" Shedeur Sanders IN THE COMPENSATORY PORTION OF THE THIRD ROUND.

I mean he has a quarterback he drafted last year that had a strong rookie season. Why would he spend a draft pick on Sanders?

Sure. And teams NEVER draft backup QBs, right?

The point is simple, it sailed right over your head. Sean Mother****ing Payton is shooting off his mouth while having zero intention of drafting Shedeur.

I’m ready to play this game, Why would the nfl owners want to collude to keep him out of the league?
Walk on as free agent , dump your baggage proof everyone wrong go down the road less traveled become great then sign a monster contract .

Nah can’t do it , then you get what you made, nothing .

Be great is not easy, humility is the only way .

First, Kaepernick was drafted.

Second, while I absolutely agree that Kaepernick was good enough to play, you completely gloss over the fact that teams were facing political and economic backlash from FANS (and not the other 31 owners) if any team chose to sign Kaepernick.

On the other hand, the sitting president of the United States is telling teams to draft Shedeur, and yet it's not happening. Furthermore, based on his "popularity" and existing NIL deals, there would be economic BENEFITS to whatever team drafted Shedeur, and yet it's not happening.

So...yeeeahhh...this is definitely NOT collusion among ownership to "not draft Shedeur".
I disagree. This is exactly what is going on. What happened with Kap proves they plot together sometimes

This ain’t madden bro. Why would he draft Sanders to back up Nix when they already have a backup quarterback on the roster? He’s allowed to share his opinion and not draft him because he doesn’t fit their current roster construction. It’s really not that difficult to figure out.

Excuses, if he thinks he’s so cant miss youd still draft him. See Jalen Hurts
Right...

A team that drafted a QB in the 1st round last year who started the whole season & made the playoffs is definitely going to expenditure more draft capital on drafting another QB the following year...

Because that makes perfect sense contractually with the QB market.

The whole thing is weird. I would take Sanders over the Louisville QB any day. I would trade Beck and both of the Cavinder twins for him right now.

The NFL is full of absolute POS humans. Cleveland picking Gabriel over him screams of collusion and that he aint getting drafted at all.

I rooted against his kid like he was an FSU QB all season but came away from every game saying this little **** is good.
Not weird.... You play stupid games and win stupid prizes... Sanders won the prize for the game he played.... Well deserved...

They didn't "plot" against Kapernick. No team, right or wrong, wanted the extra atmospherics that came with him.

The hard truth is this: No team could figure an on the field and/or public relations benefit use case of bringing him into their organization that outweighed the negatives he brought. If anyone could have solved for the first part of the equation, there would have been absolutely zero push back given for the second. NFL teams would stab their grandmothers for the first part of the equation with a smile on their faces.

Injuries happen. He had 2 chances to select him in the third. If he believes in him so much wouldnt that be the ultimate insurance policy to keep his job and or save the season if Nix goes down?

Contractually they’d both be on rookie deals. Nix contract was $18.6mill not $45mil like Cam just got for going 1:1. Let the cream rise, no?
