I have a lot of empathy for Marinovich. He wasn’t raised right. His dad completely ****ed him over. No one should be surprised he completely rebelled once he got away from his father.

If I recall correctly, he was connected to Miami before deciding to stay home at USC. Or at least he was wearing a lot of Miami gear in high school. Imagine him as a Cane, the career he might’ve had, and the temptations he would’ve had! He redshirted in 1988 at USC and then started in 89 and 90. So technically he could’ve been Miami’s starting quarterback instead of Craig Erickson.

I didn’t know about the Miami part. Totally agree with you regarding his parents and not being surprised that he went off the rails (actually on the rails, but I digress). It always sounded to me like Todd was robbed of his childhood.
