Just because the kneeling joke is in here I wanted to post this.

I was actually looking up stats yesterday on ESPN and noticed that Don Chaney has zero recorded fumbles on the season.

Even ESPN say that fumble was such bs they didn't register it.

In all seriousness, how big was that no-kneel for the perception of our season and Mario as a co(r)ch overall? Not to oversimply or play what if, but we bend the knee there (or the refs get it right) - even if the entire rest of the season played out the same - that's 8 wins. 3 more than the year prior instead of just 2. And probably a lot less vitriol and negativity around the program than we have now. CFB is not for the faint-hearted.

Couldn’t agree more. Completely changed the vibe of the whole season. Everything was negative after that debacle.

He’s done far more with far less than Mario has done. What matters ultimately is what you do on the field. Recruiting is supposed to help get you there but recruiting isn’t the ends it’s a means. Mario’s a great recruiter. Meanwhile on the field this is what each took over and what they did recently…

Changed the season outlook so much that we might have even won 1 or 2 of the games we lost afterwards

Not saying the team packed it up, but things were different immediately

Oh. He’s not going to do what Saban does as a recruiter. I think this day and age has changed a lot though. NIL can make up for a lot. Look at Napier early on when they threw all that NIL flash in June/July.

Mario has to win this year. We really need to show progress or it’s going to catch us IMO.
