Miami’s not in the SEC nor the upper third of the B1G, Miami’s in the ACC. And the Coastal at that. Pitt, Duke, UNC, UVA, BC, FSU, VT, GT … Miami needs bags to beat these teams?

I think I see what you’re trying to say (back to WINNING Championships) but Miami should have been able to go 11-1 at worse and 12-0 for par (LSU proved to be better than a lot of people thought but they were beatable). Does that mean Miami beats Alabama? No. And maybe not even Clemson. But a 12-1 team makes the CFP and is “playing for a championship”. And, if Miami is playing for a championship - even one that Miami might not win - there would be zero decommittments.

In the weakest P5 division of the weakest P5 conference Miami is poised to have a losing record ... AGAINST THE DIVISION.

I think you are missing the point.

Miami continues to hire coaches and staphs that arent good at the football part of running a program. They keep thinking that we just need some “elite recruiters” to out talent everyone. IT DOESNT WORK.

Its why we lose to Duke bc having a talent advantage is meaningless when the coaching is poor, even against Duke.

We dont have a head coach or a staff of recruiters. We have a guy with the HC title who refuses to be a Hc and wants to pretend he’s a part time OC. We have his son as QB coach who isnt a recruiter. We had Kul who hated recruiting. We had Rumph who couldnt recruit his own son to play for him. Searels isn’t exactly reeling in gems. Duggans is a recruiter. That’s about the extent of our recruiting competence.

Recruiting has changed a ton since Butch was here. Butch had an unrivaled eye for talent, and thanks to how localized recruiting was back then, he didn't have to worry about his sleepers being poached. With the wide availability of film and advanced scouting, everyone can see kids, kids that may have slipped between the cracks are now being picked up and guys are throwing bags at them too.

For Miami to win at the level we want, we must build a staff of teachers. You get a staff of guys that can teach and motivate, you'll get the results and then you should see a bump in recruiting. Yes, having a couple of recruiters on staff helps, hence why you put those guys at positions that require far less technical coaching(RB coaches are usually some of the best recruiters on staff). That said, we have weak teachers at major positions, positions that require a ton of technical knowledge(OL, WR, DB). Miami has the worst of both worlds, mediocre "recruiters' AND guys that can't teach a **** thing. That's how you get this disaster.

Miami MUST stop the delusion that we need a HC and staff of recruiters. It will never work without bags.

Why? Because these staphs always end up putting a **** product on the field, which kills momentum, and unless you are paying SERIOUS cash to compensate, elite kids wont come.

Our recruiting in year three is a disaster, and its the result of the garbage on the field, which began last year.

We need elite football guys here, all over the staff. Focusing on mediocre football guys who are “great recruiters” only works when you drop serious bags.

Taggert was good in Oregon cause of no comp in the recruiting ground on the west coast. It's not just about getting elite guys. Miami has more than enough elite guys as is to beat Michigan State, you must be able to coach those guys up AND GET THEM TO BUY IN TO WHAT YOU ARE SELLING. The best leaders understand that successful organizations are built on hard work, on setting a high standard and enforcing said standard. FSU under Willie wasn't that, lots of guys making asses of themselves, and WT couldn't get it fixed(Not that he was given a chance, you can't fix a culture that broken in 2 years). Diaz is much the same way, the only difference is that Richt didn't leave the program in shambles like Jimbo did. People forget that. Richt at least didn't let guys completely run wild out there. The problem is that Diaz hasn't even tried to install a culture worth a ****. It's all about chains and rings, not about grinding. Teams that grind are better tacklers, teams that grind consistently catch the **** football.

Again, this is why I wanted Miami to get a guy like Bill Clark. He may not be appealing to top end recruits, but he'll get the most out of the talent he has available. I'd rather be well coached with fewer top end guys and be 10-2, than have a ton of 4-5 star kids and go 7-6 because the program is run like a country club. Frankly, you'd have a better chance of getting the couple of kids needed to push you past 10-2, than it is to get a bunch of prima donnas to play hard. There's a reason why Saban was so big on "Glue Guys" early on at Bama, until he had the culture built. Now, it's a factory, either you do the right thing or you are replaced by someone else.
