Sam Jancovich

I'm pretty sure we've beaten this topic to death. Herman would've been an excellent hire though it seems for the time being he's sticking with Houston by choice.

but the BBB (butthurt butch boyz) said that Herman is only a first year coach who inherited a championship roster and that hiring him would be a bad move.

That's typical of the azzholes who want to keep the bickering going on forever. Anyway, you're talking out your ***! I thought Herman was a good second choice to Butch.

So why you bringing Herman up? You don't like Reverend Richt? Buyer's remorse? Or you just want to byatch like a girl?

Thought Richt was a great hire. Thought Herman would also have been a great hire.

Herman is a beast. Happy with Richt and I feel he'll do well here but Herman is a savage. Don't know how interested he was in the Miami job tho.

There was a noticeable correlation between those who were most vocally critical/skeptical of Herman and those who were pushing the hardest for Butch to come back. Many of them strongly believed Butch Davis was a better option to be our next coach than Tom Herman heading into 2016.

One of them just whipped FSU's *** with far inferior talent to go 13-1 in his first year as a head coach. Texas is likely going to throw a blank check at him at this time next year. Meanwhile, the other one likely won't get another Power 5 head-coaching job ever again.

Some of those threads are going to be gold to bump in a few years. The nostalgia-driven lunacy was out of control

Would have hired Tom Herman. No doubt in my mind. This guy screams Miami. Kids are all savages. Creative, innovative, no excuses, just get it done.

I think Richt can get us there, but if he doesn't, we will be regretting not getting that stud.

Not necessarily. The story goes that initially Sam was pursuing John Cooper before JJ kind of fell in his lap. The only reason Erickson came to Miami was the connection between him and Jankovich who were assistant coaches together at prior schools. Otherwise, that marriage never would have happened. People don't realize how fortuitous UM was how things turned after Schellenberger. I know there is a tendency to deify what are considered our past patriarchs. But we were pretty lucky too.

Great coach. If he methodically chooses his next destination, he'll be considered one of the best coaches in college football in the same bubble as your Urbans and Sabans. He is going to win a national championship soon.

Wouldn't be shocked if he's LSU or Texas' next coach.

Yes, and many of them still had Herman as #2 .

You leave out one important detail. He didn't want to leave Houston. Excellent pedigree and he has that edge that fits well at Miami. He was easily my first choice. Houston has to be headed back to the Big 12. Should they need schools in that conference.

Yes I think it's a fair question. I'm not trying to discredit Herman solely but a lot of credit needs to go to Orlando for their success

Still holds true. Texas was top 10 in defensive efficiency last year even including the Maryland debacle.

Herman is overrated

Jesus Christ they let you out of your kennel?

Billy Joel got tired of renewing the compaint that allowed the Suffolk County PD to hold him (after his screen name and comments brought discredit to the song of the same name on the Turnstiles album). The old boxing Piano Man is getting soft in his old age.
