Sam Bruce

Florida would be a terrible decision for this kid. The QB and Oline situation there is just flat out bad. And by the time Jake Allen even gets his first collegiate playing time Bruce will most likely be a Junior, which IMO would be his last year. The Gators are going to be a run first and run often team for his first two years. Why would he fall for that, he can come here and get Brad Kaaya in a pro style offense, with, by then will be a very experienced oline. Or at the least go to a school with an established QB and Oline.

For some reason I think he sticks at Miami. With only 1 guy coming this last class and several Older guys gong out the door I think the kid will like our depth chart.

When does he decommit? He said he will go to see home and away games for the Gators.

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Miami receiver commit Sam Bruce caught 10 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns during Thursday’s preseason game against Dillard. The St. Thomas Aquinas star’s scores came from 44 and 45 yards.

It is performances like the one Bruce gave Thursday that has the Florida Gators continuing their pursuit of the four-star prospect in hopes of a flip. The Gators are in line to get an official visit from Bruce, as well as a likely unofficial visit for their season opener on September 5.

“I talk to Florida almost every day man,” Bruce told 247Sports. “Coach [Jim] McElwain, we’ve built a great relationship. Coach [Tim Skipper] is the recruiter for down here, and we’ve built a great relationship, Coach [Drew] Hughes too. All in all, it’s been nothing but love from Florida, my best friend is there.”

Bruce will even see the Gators play on the road this season.

“I’ll also be at Florida-South Carolina game, at South Carolina. I have some players that I look up to that play for South Carolina – Chris Lammons, Al Harris – those are some of my dudes. I’m going to go hang out with them, check out their team and watch Florida. Just have a good time.”

Beyond that, Bruce has only set dates for two of his five planned official visits.

“As of now, just Miami I believe October 24 against Clemson and the Ohio State-Penn State game (October 17).”

With Bruce planning all of these other visits, should the Hurricanes worry about his pledge?

“As of now, I’m committed to Miami,” Bruce answered. “I’m very solid to Miami, I love Miami. It’s my home, 45 minutes away from home. I can see my family, my family can see me play every home game. It just looks great right now. I’ll be able to go in and compete for a starting position. Hopefully, get number six, and the main thing was majoring in sports broadcasting. Miami has one of the best communication departments in the nation, and that was a very big thing for me.”

Career suicide if he goes to UF, on top of that what good skill payers have UF put in the league. Play at home in a pro style offense and be the next Santana Moss, Roscoe Parrish, or Phillip Dorsett. Even if Miami has a bad season still a better option then UF no QB bad O line a run first offense. Have to believe this kid is smarter then that

Not for nothing, but it is from a UF site so it is possible to be slightly slanted for their readers and to sell subscriptions.. not saying he sticks but..

Let's see PD plays one year with Kaaya and goes 1st round -- Brad's easy to catch long TD's made everyone forget that ND game. One or two years with Kaaya and how do you keep Bruce out of 1st round. gator WR goes in what round? Maybe kid is that stupid but for his sake I hope not. If we win, this becomes non-story. If we Al, well all bets are off.

brought in 8 ol's last yr its not gonna be a problem forever **** they could actually be decent this yr if ivey can take over at tackle

jordan scareltt and sam bruce are the type of kids that can turn a program around and well 5 short yrs ago uf was known for having high scoring fun offenses where kids could show out at the skill positions

mac is bringing that back

he coached up a 3rd round qb and a 2nd round ot in the latest draft

and rashard higgins was biletnikoff finalist along with white and cooper he'll be a first rounder wr this draft kid led all d-1 wr's in yds and td's last yr

UM-
*good to great QB that will get him the rock for 2 yrs.
*will start as a Frosh
*mirror to Dorsett and will be a 1st rd pick three years now if he comes to UM
*play at home in front of his family and friends

UF
*no QB
*homie is there
*will be thrown all sorts of snatch while he is up in Turdville visiting
*UF will pay family if need be
*will start as a Frosh
*UF coaches calling him daily. UM is not.

This can go either way. Any of these factors can sway the kid.
