Someone please explain to my why the walk on from PR is the first lb off the bench and not Sam Brooks. This is a Goldenesque move If I have ever seen one. Get the talent on the field and let them learn there. Did the staff not learn anything from the Rousseau situation? Get the f out of here with these types of decisions. If Sam Brooks isn’t ready that’s on the coaching staff because this kid is a stud. And talk about a recruiting nightmare. That won’t sit well with local coaches.

He plays a different position..he backs up shaq..I get were you coming from tho..I remember back in the day on madden you could play a linebacker out of position and see no drop off..now you gotta get a FA who fits that position and knows that role. It’s like they want the game to resemble real life. ... miss the good ole days

and pretty much every play Shaq was having to direct #34 on what do pre snap, instead of concentrating himself. So I fail to see how Brooks could not be given the same instruction.

What happened to the Days when you put your best athlete in on defense that didn’t know the plays and told him to hit somebody or “Go Get The Quarterback” ....This is D1 Football at MIAMI... Play the damnv TALENT ... end of Story.... Brooks could have made a game changing play just on pure Athletic Ability... I’m sure 34 is a nice boy, but he’s no Miami linebacker

Looking at the tape, Shaq has no idea wtf to do so I would say that if he is monitoring a walk on it's a classic case of blind leading the blind.

Come on...you know a senior MLB is cross trained at WLB. It's not uncommon. They weren't prepared for it and it ok the admit that.

I’m sure shaq could play the Will..but then that means moving up Brooks to the Mike..Mike makes the calls n adjustments from that position..now your asking shaq to make the calls and play a different position..adds more to his plate on the fly..all in all it really didn’t have a say on the outcome.

Fair enough but IMO its a better option than running 34 out there.

Maybe it's because the guy is obviously redshirting and it appears the games he's allowed to play in are going to be towards the end of the year.

Couldn’t believe they played the walk on over the schools guys on the sideline. I know Brooks backs up Shaq, and Manny absolutely won’t sacrifice McClouds red shirt, but for ***** sake I saw Joyner in pads. Clearly anybody who came in wouldn’t likely know the assignments of the position but that kid was in a different league. I saw him get a slight shove just before the whistle and fall backwards in slow mo on his *** for 5 seconds.

he also ran around like a chicken with his head cut off when trying to play zone coverage

Diaz said in his GT postgame interview that Brooks is Shaq's backup and would be out of position subbing for Pinkney. To me, that makes Diaz look even worse. You're short handed at LB and you don't cross train your most athletic LB and best backup LB? I mean really, how hard would it be for Brooks to move to the outside? Read, run, tackle. C'mon.
