Sam Brooks

No wonder why we call people jags and Greentree A.A's. Instead of being excited about the potential we want to compare to all time greats. then if they don't live up to those lofty expectations we'll **** all over him and tear him to the ground for the next, new, shinny thing.

Rinse & Repeat

Promise you it's not that deep. I didn't even mention comparing him to a great. I said which LB would you compare him to in general.

Kid looked like a breath of fresh air during BCU game. Haven't seen much of him in HS, what former cane LB or LB in general would you compare his game to?

I don't usually like doing comparisons but I think this one will be spot on

Sam Brooks compares to John Beason/Micheal Barrow (Assuming he lives up to the hype)

He’s never really played linebacker like that, how is he getting that type of comparison already? Right now he’s an ELITE athlete making the transition to the position, but we got to see more games of him playing linebacker before those type of comparisons honestly

I just reread you OP and that's fair. You didn't ask for a great you just asked for a comparison. Previous gripe withdrawn

My comparison for right now would be a higher football IQ Zach McCloud, but because i don't think Sam has the natural speed and instincts Spence did at LB. Spence was a star there already and Sam mostly rushed off the edge in HS if i am not mistaken. However i am impressed at how he moves (always been his forte) and that he appears to be learning quickly a new role. Didn't look out of place for sure and i, for one, am not concerned about weight. When Spence was here our D was best when he moved into the middle i thought. He was only like 220 max, but he beat people to the point of attack and sifted really well through traffic. I'd kill for another SPence at MLB....And i really LOVE the guy we have there now.

Thanks for the post. The highlights ive seen he's on the edge a lot. I'm excited about his athleticism. Current guys there leave a bit to be desired in that area.

He has stated he needs to put on 20 pounds. Not sure how we can say he is much bigger then Spence. He does look like he has that “it” factor.
