Salih Altuntas

So, he's 6'10? Looks like his offensive ****nal is dunks and layups (nothing wrong with those shots). Does he shoot the 3 ball at all (as most Euro bigs do)?

Not easy to find stats on him but put up good numbers (12 and 8) at FIBA U18 last year playing for Turkey. Looks to be more of a traditional center.

That competition doesn't look very good, but it does look physical.

Nothing wrong with getting a backup big that isn't afraid to get dirty down in the paint.

Really sound footwork for a guy his size. Also has high court mapping ability. He's an opportunistic cutter, understands spacing, and he's always aware of where the rim is when he's fighting for position in the paint.

You'd like to see somebody at 6'10 play above the rim more, but he's limited athletically. Curious to see how his game translates to a more physical game in the US

So he mostly played for the U-19 team for Anadolu Efes, but he was the only player under the age of 25 to make an appearance (it was one game for one minute) and be listed on the roster for the senior team there this past season. But the roster for the senior club is interesting...it's where Shane Larkin has played for years (I would assume that is the primary connection between Altuntas and Miami).

There are a few other players with US ties, with the most notable being Jordan Nwora (Louisville and 4 years in the NBA), PJ Dozier (South Carolina and 7 years in the NBA), and Daniel Oturu (Minnesota and 2 years in the NBA). Elijah Bryant played for BYU and got a cup of coffee with the Bucks team that won the title. Vincent Poirier plays on the French national team.

I have zero idea on how good he will be, but I would not take it as an indictment that he essentially didn't play for Anadolu Efes's top team, because very few international 19 year olds would. It's a club that has won EuroLeague twice since 2021.

He looks like more like a traditional 5. And like you said, ain't nothing wrong with that... especially since a lot of big's nowadays are playing on the perimeter. They not used to all that banging down low. Wait...... that's not what I.... PAUSE!
