Safety position- Any new updates on prospects?

Gayot's solidly committed to Louisville. It's tough to because I think he could easily be one of the top safeties in Florida this year

Do you know why?

I mean he's solidly committed. He flirted with Miami earlier but it seems liked he locked into them following his visit in the summer

What's the back story on him being commited to U of L over UM cause man that makes little sense unless he has grades issues.

CJ Hampton is coming for an OV in December.

I wished we would offer RaShaan Gaulden

Cane lock if offered. I think we might after his senior tape comes out.

its crazy Gaulden is a Tennessee commit and yet he openly roots for Miami when they are playing lol

Gaulden is considered a 4 star recruit on rivals.....

I dont know why this staff doesnt seem to be jumping all over as many safety prospects as they can b/c unless Artie Burns is going to be a safety next year, it's going to be ugly at that position.

Also keep in mind Mike London could be fired after this year, so Quin Blanding could wind up at FSU before it's all said and done.... Miami cant let this recruiting class go by w/o trying to go hard after at least 1 legit safety prospect.

"Louisville has that college atmosphere that I really wanted," Gayot said. "Miami is really in the middle of a city and when I went to Louisville I loved everything about it and I actually felt like I was at home when I went there. There are a lot of south Florida kids that go to [Louisville] and I'm already comfortable around them. That was a plus."

and Keith Brown doesnt get on the field at Louisville.... JAG to this point.

Miami shouldve stuck w/ James Burgess Jr though... he couldve been a better Tyrone Cornelius, or couldve gotten a shot at safety.

yeah, what happened to keith brown?
burgess was a lb, not a safety. it usually doesn't transition well when you go backwards.

Brown wanted to play with his brother who didn't get a miami offer since Al doesn't waste offers on scrubs to get their friends/family
He also said he wanted a black coaching staff

I could be wrong but I think if Miami really wants him they get him, Louisville is overrated and inferior in every sense of the word, but to each his own. same with mike johnson who god knows why we haven't offered considering our safety depth issues

He has crazy amount of tackles. Click on his 247 profile and look his game stats. He didn't play last year because transferred out his other school. Hope we offer.

jruiz, yeah, I know why he didn't come to UM. just wondered what happened to him there. thought he was playing earlier in his career.

A SS is just a part time corner we have seen uf do this with cody riggs and fsu with joyner artie can play the backup spot with Jenkins there. AB was a FS at MNW

We'll see what happens if Charlie Strong leaves for the NFL.

HUH? Man he just got a huge extension man if anything he should be having his eyes on the next big college gig...like a USC or Texas...HOw about Florida when they fire the chump

his hopes are that his next qb can duplicate what T. Bridgewater has done...

CJ Hampton, Stephen Robert (CB/S Bama commit/ Auburn lean) who wants major in Music engineering or something with music, or offer RaShaan Gaulden. We need depth badly.

its honestly shocking we haven't heard about more safeties with this team. this isn't like dline where we have plenty of bodies and just need difference makers...we literally going to be down to 3 safeties. we need some bodies, even if they have a few question marks. we need some kind of talent back there

Mayes is a saftey if he sticks.

I would like to see Artie Burns at saftey. Kid has size and can cover alot of ground.
