Saban said we needed to lose.

saban had a whole next level of talent, aint no louisville stopping Alabama from rushig for 250 on them no matter what

coaches got some lessons they need to learn too

Read the replies looking for this response. Didn't take long....and you're exactly correct. They need to learn and work through the adversity as well. No reasonable excuse to lose a game to Louisville.

If we see the exact same offensive plays Saturday we know the coaches aren’t willing to change. And also personnel on the field. When things aren’t working give some other players a chance to make plays. Not just one snap either

6 games. We should be 10 point favorites for 3-4. Let’s see if Mario can beat the easy ones. Not sure we can beat both SMU and Pitt.

Lets see what we do v Stanford and then SMU. That will determine what this UL game meant. We should smoke Stanford and SMU gonna be a challenge because Lashlee is a pretty good schemer like Brohm.

One thing is pretty clear to me. We cannot rely on Beck chucking the ball all over to win games. They need to run the **** ball, and we haven't since UF. We are a running team, that is and should be our bread and butter and that OL needs to be chewed out after getting all the praise earlier
they need help. Swing passes, anything. Give them a break from crashing forward into big bodies play after play....

I listened to those press conferences today. I think Dawson knows he has to "tweak" - his big talkiing point was getting more plays.
In his own words, we "threw away 5 series" out of the 11 series we had all game.

We shall see..

Mario was on Saban's staff and is a big protege of Nick.

I think our Canes are far past the "needed to lose phase"
They weren’t, once I seen all the missed tackles on that first drive I knew instantly our players felt like they could just show up n beat Louisville, cause the first five games we swarmed to ball n was violent like nobody’s business.. I knew we weren’t motivated for this game starting off

This is only true if the coaches actually learned AND make changes. Otherwise it's just an L on the schedule that didn't help them grow/learn. And we saw enough against UF and FSU to see this coming but sometimes the L adds clarity and urgency that the players need.

Smart people learn from their own mistakes.
Wise people learn from other's mistakes.

"In my opinion, Miami needed to lose. I used to tell our team all the time when we played a game like that, we needed to lose. Because we need to learn from the things that we're not doing to create the habits we need to have to play winning football on a consistent basis.

Nick Saban on ESPN College GameDay

Saban only had 2 undefeated national championship teams. I agree with Saban. I think the loss to Louisville is a focus shifter for us.
Winning is hard and Saban is 100% correct.
This team has been playing with fire since game 1 and it finally bit them in the ***.
Watching the best player on the field get benched in crunch time by Brohm after a fumble showed the mentality difference of each team from top to bottom. I hope Mario takes that to heart.

But this isn’t just on Mario. Penalties from vets like Maui, as much as that was embellished by the UL player, are unacceptable and it’s time for someone who wears a uniform to get in someone’s *** and let them know it’s unacceptable. I’ll argue every day that level of accountability is far more important than that of the guy standing on the sideline. We’ve been penalized more in all “big 4” games we’ve played this season and it’s unacceptable.

The change and getting things back on the right track as far as expectations and accountability is going to come from the peer level if it’s going to happen. My concern is, from what I hear, that that’s gone by the wayside the last few weeks. Hopefully it’s symptomatic of having a couple bye’s so close together.

I expect an ultra clean game on Saturday. We don’t see that, we’ve got an issue.

Wonder if he also felt we needed to come out and play like that in the first place to put us in that position of “needing to lose”…
