AlwaysNot saying it didn’t happen. But this is just a self-serving statement to make it look like he even cares about the kids on the way out.

Trust me they will make a story though even if it's some bs.Someone will make a documentary about Bama, but it's not going to be memorable. Why? Because there won't be a story to tell outside of "Saban beat everyone because they had more money and resources, and the NCAA let them do whatever they wanted without fear of punishment".
He was right about them having better players as we. Came from his mouth the master evaluator, it wasn't me this time.Sabag was right. Wouldn’t you send a QB to Lincoln Riley and OU over almost any other coach?
Hurts made the right choice but further proof of the **** show of a program and continued strikeouts at coaching hires at the top and for coordinator.
Mario has to mail this OC hire.
Personally, I think he was just ***** jealous that Belichek got to deep sea fishing with JJ in the off-season every year and he didn’t…that’s why he kissed and made up with Belichek and hated Miami. With all the Crimson Tide success I think that Saban has always had a hard one on what our Canes were all about back in the day. He saw it happen.
The king of College football and don't forget it, was our mantra.
Even if he tried, Saban could NEVER make a defining and indelible impact as our Old Canes did for so long......always he seemed to have that itch against our Canes because he knew they wrote the book on their eras.
Schnelly, JJ, Erickson, and Davis were innovators, not plug and play like he is doing today.
He is now scared that Mario knows, not only Miami, but Bama inside and out, and he will use that knowledge to build something that may challenge him, just like Smart is doing now.
Methinks he will retire in a year or two, and sell cars instead of chase recruits........... so his fears may win out but unfortunately, he will not be there to feel the effects or the impact, longterm .
The Canes are rebuilding and he **** well knows it.

I think that's also why he added in the better players part.I was more surprised that Saban publicly admitted he steered Hurts away from Maryland partially because of coaching. Locksley was coaching Hurts under Saban and then went to Maryland and then Saban steered him to Oklahoma.
I know Riley has some great results with QBs and offenses so I could obviously see Saban steering Hurts there behind the scenes but was surprised he admitted it publicly.
Its not old news to me. I hadn't heard about this.
So Saban didn't want him playing for Manny the clown.............I would've told him the same thing. Doubt he'd have the same energy towards Mario.

And nobody is criticizing you. I'm just curious as to why one paid media author has written an article that repeats news which was reported nearly 2 years ago.
