Saban calls out Miami while complaining about NIL

Now do you guys see why Saban is pushing so hard for restrictions??

NIL being the Wild West chaotic open market that it is actually levels the playing field & throws a monkey wrench in the Monopoly that Bama has had on recruiting...

Notice he didn’t say anything about UGA or LSU historically buying players, why do you think that is?

Just remember, the two coaches who are the most against NIL is Saban & Dabo, so what does that tell you?

A millionaire coach that's mad that the players that make his salary possible are getting paid.
Recruiters should show this article to every player.
This! Transferring is bad for football. Coaches come and go as they please. Kids shouldn’t get paid. He’s making eight figures a year. He’s always been an elitist and he always will be. It’s only good when it’s good for him. I do love the “sustainable model” comment. The brand that is college football will evolve, because the Supreme Court made it clear that the old model should never have been. The constitution doesn’t agree with Nick. **** him and anyone who only likes capitalism when it benefits them specifically more than everyone else. There’s enough for everyone. Greedy pig.

It’s wild to me that he really wants to play this game. It’s like cheating on a test then complaining because you find out everyone else cheated but you mad cause you wanted the highest grade. STFU Nick!
This!

Texas A&M have been "world class" cheaters for eons.

I remember waaaaay back when I was living in Texas and A&M tried to buy Eric ****erson with a Trans Am plus numerous other goodies. SMU paid more so he went there. He excelled at SMU and later became a the HOF NFL RB.

****erson kept BOTH cars in college because TAMU couldn't admit doing what they obviously did. SMU on the other hand ended up getting what was equivalent to the NCAA death penalty. TAMU with its HUGE connections got nothing.

TAMU has been cheating for almost a century. They are one of the Original OGs. Paul "Bear" Bryant brought cheating to A&M way back in the 50's then took it with him when he went to BAMA. Neither one of them should be pointing fingers at anyone. They were two of the 1st. But I'm sure it goes back further than them.

IF the NCAA wants to put a limit on NIL ...then they should also put one on Coaching salaries. Since restricting either one make no sense and would only be due to envy and pure jealousy. As every Wharton grad knows...just let the market sort it out

The NCAA has the legal ability to do NOTHING anymore ever to anyone. Their a governing body put in place by the university’s to protect their own interests. That’s DEAD! I’m curious to see if Congress try’s to save their wealthy friends. University’s are elitist institutions and will lie and cheat to keep everyone else down. It plays out on CNN every day under cover. It’s a very real political privileged move now to get them involved to “save” football. The great news for the ones most deserving of the money earned is, the constitution is alive and well. Athlete do the job and have a right to get paid. This isn’t a democracy, it’s a constructional republic is made up of 50 little countries and they all want their teams to win. It’s finally the perfect storm.

"Just sign with us first, and then we will pay. That way we can say other teams paid to sign players. But we didn't"

Like, didn't Bryce Young get paid a mil pretty early his freshman year? Or when he was the starter?
Not to mention Tua and his entire family moved to Alabaster, Alabama from Hawaii. I lived in Alabaster, and no way in **** I’m leaving Hawaii for that town. I’m sure they weren’t compensated or anything..

I think you all are missing Saban’s bigger point.

Imo, it’s not so much complaining and whining, but a call to arms to Alabama faithful to up the ante. He’s searching for his own John Ruiz’s.

And I think you have an amazing point lol!

The "tide" is turning. (corny, but idgaf)

A good speaker tailors his message to his audience, and he was speaking to BUSINESS LEADERS, not their COLLECTIVE. Satan is just trying to rally the “troops”, to get involved. Pointing out examples, basically telling those leaders GO SPEND the ncaa is not going to stop this train, and they(Alabama) will need all the help they can get.

Still **** satan and bama

This!!! To bad he’s not going to find one. lol

“It’s just unsustainable”. Yeah, for Alabama. You can’t keep up now that other schools are allowed to get money involved. A duffel bag full of cash and a leased Charger ain’t enough these days.

He’s already setting up his out for retirement. “The way the game is going, with everyone paying players, I can’t be involved anymore”. Or some other sanctimonious, “spirit of the game” bull****.

He’s always been against NIL. First he tried to scare people away from it by insinuating that it would give Alabama an even more unfair advantage. Remember him bragging that Brice Young had a million dollar deal? Like we’re supposed to believe that Nick Saban was against giving himself an even bigger advantage. The college football world called his bluff and now he’s straight arguing to eliminate NIL.

Him and Dabo are both done.

Alabama's citizens give more to Bama than they give to their own churches, believe me that's plenty. I can't think of another state where even non grads and local yokels give so much to a state funded football program

They also have many generations of willing graduates and that's not even considering their state funding.

Bama is doing fine...BUT I'm sure that they wouldn't turn down additional funding from ANY source
