I enjoyed the ACCN crew…Jimbo Fisher made some good points, as the plays were developing. Nice to hear pro Miami announcers on tv.

Saban has been very pro Miami the last 6 weeks or so. He clearly likes Mario. I wonder if he’s mentoring him behind the scenes and giving him some advice on each opponent.

I 100% percent believe Schiano does on our defense, whether with or without Heatherman involved. Jimmy Johnson and Saban would be the other two he listens to. That’s a **** of a mentor group.

yes. I think he also feels some of the pressure is off. The team is a direct reflection of him - they show it every game. They love the sport, they are dawgs on the field and they make no excuses.

Yea nomore deer in the headlights look on sideline he is engaged hyped in vocal towards refs n players its awesome to see now

I wonder if this is for a couple of reasons.

1. He has proof of concept now. He knew what he wanted to do, but hadn't actually done it yet. Furthermore I remember people on here saying that you need to make a NY6 bowl game in your first 3 seasons, no coach wins a national championship without that speed of turn around. Mario definitely did not achieve that.

2. The deer in the headlights look comes when you don't have answers and the he had the answers, but the players weren't capable of achieving those answers. I understand that is hard headedness and likely poor coaching, but it is also that which has led us this far. He has the cattle, so the answers now make sense.
