Ryan Williams cleared to play..

You might be right. He's had a LOT of practice the last few years. One thing he's always been good at, so they say, is hitting guys in stride. With our skill position players, that could be deadly. I like Kaaya, but I'm not against Williams playing IF he can play well.
Williams would pick Nebraska apart. He'd be like a black jack dealer back there dealing to multiple open receivers.
Kaaya will eventually be a lot better than Williams. But Williams is the much better QB right now. We'd carve Nebraska up like a Christmas turkey with Williams and some decent play calling. Plus, Williams is the unquestioned leader of this team.

You could tell he was cleared to play last week. He was ****ed as **** watching Bradley yuk it up on the sideline.

Go watch the replay if you think I'm wrong.

Glad we have Williams but this is Kaaya's team now. Williams will get put in instead of Heaps but if Golden suddenly puts William in instead of Kaaya for the Nebraska game, I will gladly join the anti-Golden club.

Brother Kayaa is cutting his teeth with big early season road games. Hopeful Coley just let's him make his checks....looking to the sideline with 13 on the play clock, on the road, isn't going to cut it.

I think it's foolish to start Williams against Nebraska. Kaaya did a good enough job to keep the starting job. He's been improving every week. He's a much better QB than he was in the first game against Louisville, although the two opponents since then were not UL quality.

Williams should come in and get some playing time. Also, if Kaaya falters, Williams can go in and take over.

Back during the Schnellenberger era, it was routine for the backup QB to do a series in the second quarter. Richt would always come in for a series although Kelly had started the game. After Richt's series was completed, Kelly would come back in the for the rest of the game. Schnelly had the theory that by giving the backup one series on a regular basis would ensure that the backup was more game ready if he had to take over fulltime. This was probably the case when Richt took over fulltime after Kelly went out in the first or second game against Va Tech with a separated shoulder (killed his run for the Heisman). After Richt got in trouble after the FSU game, and ended up in Schnellenberger's doghouse, RS fresnman Kyle Vandewende finished the season. He almost beat Maryland at Maryland against Boomer Esiason. At least that's what I remember. i think it was a close game.

EDIT: Yep, checked the record. We lost to Maryland 18-17 at Byrd Stadium. I was at that game. Good performance with a first time starting QB on the road. I remember Vinny Testaverde coming in for a series in the second quarter. (Kosar never played, he was a RS). Some would think Vandewende got screwed by having to compete again the next year and losing the starting job to Kosar. He eventually got fed up and left the program early. I remember hearing rumors that Kosar somehow "politicked" for the job. How he did that, I don't know, but he seemed to have kind of an assertive personality and maybe he was able to persuade the coaches with that.

This is good. We need someone healthy to hold the clipboard now that Olsen is day drinking alone at an Applebee's, telling the busboy about the time he threw 4 tds in a high school game.

I've seen some shots of Rosier on the sideliine, and he might have been wearing a headset and even holding a clipboard. I'm not sure, and I don't want to review the game videos to confirm it, but he might be ready for clipboard duty. Maybe they'll reassign Heaps to clipboard duty, he'll probably have to spend extra time in the film room to study past games, focusing on the clipboard work of past clipboard holders, so he can get up to speed. I've never focused much on the various assignments and duties of backup QBs on the sideline, so I'm assuming the immediate backup, the guy that goes in if the starter has to come out, doesn't do clipboard. I think he stands there, waving his arms around a lot, supposedly signalling in calls and shouting stuff to the guy actually in the game.

I dunno. Maybe somebody here knows more clipboard.

I focus more on stuff like throwing up the "U" properly. I didn't realize that I was doing it wrong, until a year or so ago, I saw a guy wearing UM gear at the big computer superstore we have here in Maryland, Microcenter. Of course, I started talking to him. He identified my poor technique on the "U", since I was folding three fingers down, instead of holding them all up next to my index finger. He was right.

I spent an entire offseason practicising my "U", and reading everything I could find on the proper technique. (The literature was kind of sparse, so I had to wing it and do it on my own.)

I really don't understand the on the field love affair with Ryan Williams from you guys. He hasn't.done.ANYTHING!
Now off the field...husband, father, in grad school, dude is my hero!

Looked good at Memphis.

He was decent.

What area of Memphis are you in?

In knoxville, TN right now. Lived in East Memphis back in the day.

Man, I want to go to Memphis so bad. I want to see the Stax Museum, try some BBQ, and see some of the blues nightclubs. Where was the old Stax HQ, was it something like McLemore Ave., or College or University? Do those street names ring a bell. Loved the old Stax Music, although one of the greatest, Sam Moore of Sam and Dave was a Miami boy, right out of Liberty City, I believe.

Man we are trying to win the game and not play your favorite player. If Williams is ready he should play and start
