Such a small percentage of college players make it to the NFL. No doubt that Ragone has limitations, and his career likely will not extend past his days with the Canes. That said, he can be an effective college player. He makes good decisions, and diagnoses plays well. Hope he gets more burn.

What Percentage Of Football Players Go Pro?

Which kid doesn’t dream of becoming star QB for the Bears, Patriots or Packers? But how many actually do?

According to a 2020 survey by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the chances of making it all the way through the system from high school football to fully-fledged professional are slim at best.

Interestingly, the closer you get, the harder it is to make that final leap to the ‘big leagues’.

The overall probability of high school players going on to compete in illustrious college football was just 7.3 percent – with 73,712 NCAA participants estimated to make the grade from 1,006,013 high schoolers.

While those that made the cut for college football then stood just a 1.6 percent chance of going from the NCAA to a major pro – highlighted by the fact that of around 16,380 players eligible for the draft, from 73,712 college ballers, only 254 were likely to be picked.

While, according to other sources such as the NFL Players Association, some rate the odds of ultimate success as even smaller – and even as little as a 0.2 percent shot for any player to make it all the way to the NFL.

Jimmy Murphy 2.0

Kid is actually a good football player despite his size. Probably a bigger inditement on the other kids we're recruited, but thats not no fault of Ragone.
Or Fentress 2.0!

How is it we can get this walk on to look at the very least serviceable, and know where to be.. but highly recruited guys are just tuck dancing on the sidelines?

Its mind boggling to me how much talent just can’t seem to get it right once they get to Miami..

What a depressing fact. Ragone is not a P5 LB yet he gets PT here bc we have NOBODY!!!

You guys keep telling me that but all I notice is when he is out there is consistently making plays.

Shouldn't he have to fail before he is judged as a failure?

Also his size seems to be an advantage out there. He is a bowling ball out there, doesnt seem to be overmatched in any tackles, doesnt look slow and gets behind other players and never seems to be blocked.

Chase Smith and Ragone need more snaps.
