Ryan Ragone defending Manny…

He can transfer and play for him at his next stop if he’s that good of a coach.. right @Ragscane?

Let the market tell you how good of a coach he is when he ends up being the DC at Louisiana Tech again.
@Ragscane good on you brother. Take your UM degree and Hurricane memories that will sustain you for this life.

Manny has built himself a nice cabal of losers. I bet not every player in that locker room likes whats happening. Diaz is a politician, he learnt from his dad about overloading people with bullsh!t till you wear them down. Clown
I'm not gonna say you're wrong, but I'm not gonna lump this team of young men all into the "loser" category. Sorry, can't and won't do it.

nah. skip is gone. Mullen is unemployed. they are the only two who would hire him lol

These players love Manny. Reminds me so much of Randy. In a perfect world, he would stay on as team chaplain or something like that.

If he was a little taller and skinnier,.he might even make a decent Sebastian. Lol

Playing on the DIII level, only 3 coaches are actually paid. All other coaches are GAs. this was late 90s, maybe different now. Hated the head coach personally, respected him coaching. long time coach successful, we were successful my 4yrs there. 2 NCAA tournaments, my sophmore yr we lost in the semifinals of the NCAA tournament. I was a safety and I had 3 different position coaches in 4yrs. players play, coaches coach, yeah shocking. so many excuses are made one way or the other. Point is majority of players will back their coaches when they are putting in the work no matter the personal feelings. There is respect.

Love that Ragone has made the most of his opportunities that Manny has provided him, and paying it back by supporting his coach. Ragone would've never had these opportunities at any other competent P5 program.

Ragone unfortunately dove into the hypothetical conversation. We could argue that we could've almost lost to App State, Pitt or Nc State. If we lose those games, today would've been a battle of teams that are battling it out for last place in the ACC.

Ragone doesn't understand evaluation when he brings up UF and LSU. I hate sticking up for UF, but they're smart to fire Mullen. They saw the product degrade and that Mullen's early success was attributed to the previous tenure's players. Once Mullen's kids came in, the product diminished. This is something we're familiar with in Larry Coker; early success, reality started to set in by year 3/4. LSU is an even better example. They saw that Ed O caught lightning in a bottle with Aranda and Brady as coordinators, but overall, Orgeron's a mediocre coach and a bad evaluator with his coaching staff. LSU got ahead of this and will have their pick of HC this offseason.

Raggon repeatedly mentioned that this is big-time business but that patience pays off. Miami fans have been patient for 18 years since our success, Diaz has been here for 6 years and our defense has gone down significantly (this is similar to Mullen at UF).

When u start accepting and making excuses for losing, that's how the standards fall and u become that. Maybe too harsh of a word but thats what i heard listening to that audio. They don't take responsibility.

So TVD, Rooster, Rambo, Harley etc. are LOSERS? I think that is rather insulting to ow they have performed.

Don't understand the people in this thread getting ****ed off at ragone for voicing his opinion lol. this board loves to be all about thanking players for their contribution to the U until it isn't. yeah the kid's not the best linebacker ever and coaches made weird decisions putting him in. get mad at the coaches...lord knows they've earned it. but getting personal and nasty with the guy for defending his coach, which players generally do, just doesn't seem right. Especially since nobody who is a key decisionmaker in this process is making their decision based off of what ryan ragone says on his podcast. this is like if jimmy murphy defended richt and people immediately got on here to tell him to fvck off and they hope he transfers and that he's a rudy wannabe. relax lol.

Again, not saying you are wrong.

Coaching for free and making $4 million to suck at your job are two opposite things. Everybody respects the guy that works for free. You don’t have to respect your coach when it’s clear he’s a fraud. All you have to do is listen to him and not be a distraction. They like Manny bc he’s their friend. It’s not more complicated than that.
