After watching his Hudl film, is it me or is he underrated? Watching him next to 4 star Demarcus Christmas (#90 who signed with FSU, #6 ranked DT in the country last year). He seems to be quicker off the ball and seems to face more double teams despite being a year younger and less known. He might be a steal at DT. Great hustle, can penetrate, strong as an ox taking on double teams, not much of a pass rusher though. Now knowing this is his highlight film, I went back to watch Christmas' junior film and it was no where near as impressive IMO playing alongside 4 star Derrick Calloway who signed with USF. IMO this I'd is really underrated or Christmas is really overrated. What do you guys think?

He stacks everything up. Hard to move in the middle, and effective at stacking up and splitting double teams. Not a great pass rusher, but he will help give us toughness in the middle, and looks like he can be an effective NT. How much does he weigh now?

Alright man, I'll play along...

First, don't worry about people mocking you. Fines looks pretty good. I'm not sure if he's underrated or not, however, he does looks like he has a good motor. But looks very stiff.

One can argue, that his success in his highlight film is boosted by the fact that Christmas was getting a lot of attention on the other side. Not a lot of interest from other schools when you have some great prospects from that school.

I think he's got good build and size, but let's see what he does his senior season. Hopefully he continues to improve and build his technique some.

Glad we ran that one by you, phew almost made a mistake. Keep your keen eye out there for that UM material.

In both video's look for #99 at DT in red. He is solid 3* but not under rated. He is a good pick up for UM at NT because he is a blue collar type grinder at the position an that is what UM needs.

Now if you want to see a 3* NT that is underrated take a look at TD Moton who was a high4* but because of some character issues and school transfers he was dropped to a 3* with a 5.7 rating vs Fines 5.6 rating. Shortly after that drop in rating Bama swooped in an accepted Moton's commitment away from TAM.

This boy could end up being like Cortel Jenkins.... if he does that'd be awesome because Cortel was/is the most slept ' on defender from the 14' class a nd I know he's about to wreck shop

Another example of underrated kid is the NT OJ Smith Bama signed in their 2014 Class and he is another 3* Louisiana kid bama took early, very similar to what they are doing with TD Moton. So to the OP looking at both Moton and Smith's film as 3*s do you think Fines is underrated compared to them? Again this is not a knock on Fines, whom I think will do very well at UM as a 2 gap'r.
