Another great honor for Russell Maryland.

1 star recruit recruit from the Chicago area. Had no D1 offers. Jimmy Johnson saw him on a film where he was evaluating someone else and after investigation, ended up offering Russell Maryland. Yada yada yada...

* 1st team All American
* #1 overall pick in the 1991 NFL draft.
* UM Iron Arrow Society member
* College Football Hall of Fame inductee

And now Orange Bowl Hall of Fame member.

Congrats big man. I remember the 91 Cotton Bowl where it seemed he either had a tackle or sack every other play. Unblockable.
 
Love me some Russell. Don't think any Cane lineman has near his awards. When I think about how any others we have had that you could argue where as good or better, it is just amazing. Truly great to be a Miami Hurricane,
 
Completely took over a lot of the games at Miami - like the '91 Cotton Bowl.

Last player taken in his recruiting class, too. That worked out pretty well.
