Run out of town on a poll

As disappointing a loss that was, still we lost by 8 points to a team that we were suppose to lose to by 6.5 points......and we almost are run run out of the rankings......we drop 12 spots? For sure we should drop a few but I am taken aback....anyone think this is too drastic a drop or is the ranking appropriate?

If not #25 where would you rank us?

On the positive side, the Canes held their own against a SEC biggie (on paper at least) and probably would have won the game without the muffed punt and guys made key plays when they were there.

At the same time, Texas A&M was missing basically their whole secondary and they still did a pretty good job shutting the Canes WRs down and their offense looks like crap. Plus, App State needing a hail mary to beat Troy at home makes Texas A&M look even less impressive.

Overall, it is improvement. The team didn't let this one turn into a blowout like they would have in the past. They seem to be more disciplined, not dancing on the sideline when down in games, and not celebrating a solid hit after a 20+ yard gain by an opponent. I am still extremely positive about the future of the team, especially as the talent starts to flow in.
 
Pollsters saw A&M get beaten by Appalachian and then watched them beat us while we tried to run a 1975 offense. I'm not sure what else to expect of them.
 
Polling is stupid, it just gives fans something to talk about. People are now suggesting that the Aggies are a sneaky good team.

Those that watched know that both of these teams are fatally flawed and that the canes controlled the game for large stretches. Either way, I think we dropped too far. But we have seen Florida jump in big after being unranked, then get pushed by a terrible USF team. Michigan State are not the great and Washington jump in big.

Either way, any poll this early in the season is a waste of time.
