Am I the only one who is scratching their heads by the unimaginative and predictable weak run plays? Was that just good D or is our early playcalling putting us in early holes to then from behind? I was at the game but just looking for a balanced set of opinions lol

I think Richt was still trying to protect Perry early in a tight, high anxiety game. Let him mentally settle in before asking a lot of him. Once we got behind, the shackles had to come off for better or worse, and fortunately Perry responded.

No you are not wrong. We did get squat on first down runs and put us in bad situations 3rd and long. We should have been throwing on some of those to keep them off balance

Read Lances breakdowns. The line has several breakdowns every play.

Welp.....if Richt stopped trying to run most porsters on here would be *****ing that he abandoned the run game too early.

Bottom line was we won. Could have done better on O and we need to do so. Still won regardless and made plays late to win it.

I wonder what our chart looks like on 1st and 10 yesterday, it ain't good for damm sure

This is Richt protecting Perry. This will change soon. Perry will start torching teams once they stack the box. Its coming, maybe this weekend.

Runs are taking to long to develop, and everyone of them looks the same.

It reminded me of us vs ND last year when they were running all those slow developing plays and we were eating it alive. FSU DL is too athletic and our OL is too trashy for us to run those plays consistently

Apparently 75k booing Canes fans agreed with you on the 3rd and 16 run calls!

This was less on the play calling and more on the fact the OL simply was outmatched against F$U's DL. Those same run plays gashed UNC all night last week. What was Richt supposed to do, have Perry throw it 50 times?

This isn't fantasy football, we kill it at the skill positions, but our OL is sorely lacking. Richt had to keep the defense honest and commit to the run, even though a couple of the times when he chose to run were questionable.

Run game was too predictable. If back is lined up behind Perry in the pistol, it was a run play every time. I believe the offense can work but Richt needs help calling plays. And why run up the middle where FSU defense is strongest? Why no RPO with quick passes to the flats? It's time for one of our younger coaches to get involved with play calling. There are many teams now that have more than one play caller.
