Rumor

Come on man. At what point does player responsibility count for something?
It is a factor but I know our entire team isn't full of idiots. Whatbpoints an obvious finger to coaching is that nearly every player on defense and st has made multiple head scratching decisions over the last 3 to 4 years sometimes the same mistake repeatedly. At some point you have to blame the coach for not coaching or for not benching said player
This is a 30 year or more deal with UM players. Even our best teams ever made continuous errors. They just out talented the other team to make up for it.
It is one thing to be ultra aggressive and get exploited for a big play here or there. It is another to have key players continuously fail at the simplest defensive concepts on all three levels and allow ****** teams with avg players to run up and down the field on you the whole game.

I just don't get it man. Week after week I see posts whining about how this playmaker or that stud on team X carried their team to victory while crying about how terrible our guys are in comparision. Then when we have a guy do it, those same people talk about how it doesn't matter?
If ya can’t enjoy the good times, wth is the point of being a fan? It’s either total misery or a ‘ship. Nothing in between. Guess a lot of us still believe it’s 2001. Or the 80s.

Should we remind him of that on sides kick?

Everyone is on a play to play evaluation.

Saw some dude say if we don't hit 35 and 500, Lashlee is on his hot seat.

Five hours, a TD and 125 yards over that total it was fire Manny, promote Lash to HC.

That's not necessarily true. What they had in common were that they mentally tougher and had a higher football IQ. Some of our most talented teams lost, 1985, 1986, 2002.

Doesn't high football IQ usually translate to fewer penalties? Even our best teams ever were hindered by massive totals.

It depends. JJ himself said, he can live with penalties of aggression, it's the others that drove him crazy. And penalties are only one metric about football IQ. The bigger metric is consistently making key plays in "game situations" rather than having them made against you.

We made the plays last night, thanks to King. I glad for that. The best I can say for the VA game is we didn't make plays to lose. I guess that's progress. The real unanswered question is this game a data point or a trend. The recent defensive performances prevents most from believing it's a trend until they see it on the field.
