although a valid point, most coaches don't get extensions every single year. only when the school fears to lose them or their contract is almost up

so maybe because technically we don't have an opening yet and those schools don't fear losing their coaches, they don't feel the need to shell out a ton of money on an extension right now especially with the way the market looks
