First, I laughed at "Dave Hyde". You are actually citing a guy that knows nothing and doesn't cover UM.

Second, I never said that they have not become friends SINCE Larranaga moved to Miami. Only that they were not friends AT THE TIME OF THE HIRING.

Mario and jurich aren’t unqualified nor are whatever agendas they have counter to UMs best interest.

Epstein, however, shouldn’t be called unqualified. He should be called a failure. He’s been a failure in his role on the BOT in relation to athletics.

Did you really expect for the culture of cluelessness and incompetence to just disappear? Did you really expect Jurich to be hired just like that in a matter of fact fashion? We're not there yet because there is a power struggle between the faction who is sick of mediocrity and want to win and win big and the faction that represents the status quo, going through the motions, bilking the system for their cut without lifting a finger, deathly afraid of offending anyone SJWs etc.

The good news is that the status quo has lost their leverage and no longer have control like they have in the past and it is slipping away faster than they ever expected. The good news is that the good guys in this, the faction who wants to win, now have all the financial leverage. Only one side can win out and it's our side that will. It's only a matter of time. The problem is that we need these things like the right AD, HC etc to happen a lot sooner than later. Someone is going to have to fire the kill shot and when that happens it will be obvious to everyone. The sooner the better.

Stop lying. You were the one who started this all by claiming that there was no difference between Epstein and the Mas brothers. I just rebutted your false posts.

I wish we could all get along, anyway, after much reading and listening, I wonder if someone could explain what Epstein's motive could be to scuttle the Jurich(+mario?) plan that seemed to be about to happen...

...unless it's to appease Sr. & therefore save Manny, wouldn't Epstein satisfy any power hunger by simply jumping on the Jurich bandwagon and helping assure it happens? The only thing that makes sense (to me) is he's indirectly helping Sr. ...But didn't a few here say that was NOT the actual case? Then what?

(upd: OK, I'll answer my own rhetorical question... the other thread (on Epstein, from 2019, now fully revived) seems fairly clear that Epstein's motive is to save Manny (to appease Sr. and that cabal). Maybe it takes one cabal to prevent another from holding sway. (Sigh.) Unless Dr. Frenk n staff n search firm are truly objective and immune to political pressure when they "decide".)

OK, fair enough, my argument is not with you. Maybe I'm just wound up after a few dozen false and misleading porsts by a certain porster.

I still think Epstein's biggest "power" fear is the AD job, not the HC job. HCs can be hired and fired, but the AD usually cultivates some power within the University. Even Beta Blake did.

I think Epstein's INTENTION is to block Jurich, but his IMPACT is also blocking Cristobal.

Maybe you have to have been around these guys or similar types there for many impressionable years of your life from a young age to appreciate how ****ed up it is. This is the absolute most Miami thing here to quote LCE.

A rich guy who’s not genuinely tuned in nor knowledgeable of a situation - one that’s out of his social and business wheelhouse - who walks around saying with intimidating conviction - that Manny Jr “is fabulous” with the way he gets in there and slip n slides with the kids so he’s a helluva guy and coach… because he actually believes it, wants others to believe it or both.

Meanwhile… he wants to curry and/or repay favors to other powerfull people and hold the key of power to the Athletic Department in a stranglehold for some future unknown leverage that he can parlay into more favors - at the expense of people who actually give a **** about the thing and will at least try to fix it.

Seems like a booster at other universities sees athletics as an extension of their power, as opposed to Miami, where a successful coach or AD is seen as a threat to their power.

I know man. I wasn't trying to be a douche just venting my frustrations at this whole administration, school, BOT and everyone else involved in the abortion that this program has become. Nothing against you personally. I didn't even realize who I was quoting until you quoted me back lol. All good.
