Here is what I’ll say about this:

The fact that Manny hasn’t been fired tells me that he’s plan B. Otherwise he would’ve already been fired, AD or no AD in place.

That’s some bull**** if Manny is the plan B and that the only other plan is Mario.

This team shouldn’t go on with Manny, period. You need to have something else already planned in case of a last minute sanafu with Mario as I don’t believe Lane is plan B.

Edit: Unless the just want Manny to stick around and coach the bowl game since Lashlee is gone but C’mon….

Yeah. But Cristobal/Oregon hasn’t come out and said he’s definitely staying either.

Here’s what’s going on, just speculating though. Cristobal didn’t receive his extension offer from Oregon until a few days ago. People who are saying Cristobal’s had it for over a week are directly contradicting what Cristobal said in his presser after the pac-12 championship. I believe he said something like: Oregon (key words) is working on a package for me (or something to suggest that the offer was very recent). At the same time, we pitched Cristobal on our package Friday night/Saturday. I’m sure he’s been leveraging our offer to up Oregon’s offer and vice-versa. Once both sides will go no further and have finalized their offers, he’ll sit back and weigh what he wants to do (this will probably take place today/tomorrow).

The fact that he hasn’t accepted our offer means he’s very open to returning to Oregon. Same logic applied to us: the fact that he hasn’t told Oregon he’s retuning and quashed the rumors means he’s very open to coming to us. If he already accepted our offer, as some are claiming, we would have most likely already fired Manny.

The fact that we haven’t fired Manny yet tells me that the decision makers don’t know if Mario will accept our offer. It also tells me that there no plan B. Unless our new AD has a plan B.

Not plugged like you but I live in SEC country as well and all I hear is he should go somewhere else and not Miami. Mario has respect even at a fan level outside of Oregon and Miami. That tells me all I need to know. Even though I didn't need to be sold on him.

Well he's a Golden Cane for one. Believe he's fairly connected but going to have to wash a lot of egg of his face if this all goes south given how loud he's been about all of this.

Which he really can't be. Look, I get that everyone (me included) is impatient and wants this done but, if you take a step back, you realize that today is December 5th. We will likely have a high powered AD in place in the next couple of days. Riley, Kelly and Venables (if he goes to OU) were never coming here anyway. Many of the coaching moves on an annual basis take place in December. This recruiting class is shot anyway so whether a head coach is in place today or 2 weeks from today, it's not going to mean much.

Not confused at all because U of Miami is not broke nor have they been. Just unwilling in past to spend money they have.
