Rueben Bain Draft Prospects

What was the agenda then? He personally hates Rueben Bain? He is a closet Florida fan?

The guy's job is to get people to read what he is writing about the NFL Draft. Just because it happened to your favorite player on your team doesn't mean the story isn't newsworthy.

I'll play... Two things can be true.

His agenda was to "break the scoop" while simultaneously vilifying/denigrating/disparaging the man.

You can have another opinion. That's fine, not trying to convince anyone (or be convinced).

Where in the article did he vilify or denigrate or disparage Bain?

He said an incident happened, NFL teams are looking at it closely and that was pretty much it. Kept it extremely vanilla.

If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at the NFL personnel leaking this story to the media now. Don't be mad at the reporter for doing his job.

Kyren Lacy has been gone precisely one year now and a NFL "journalist" has nothing better to do than publish a hitpiece article about a story that's been dealt with to smear a player.

**** sports media, and **** this dude.
Do you really expect a reporter to not publish information like this? A reporter’s job isn’t to protect Rueben’s draft status.

The agenda is a favor. There is no doubt that an NFL team released this information for the sole purpose of bringing Bains grade down so he could fall to that particular team. It’s a dirty business but that’s how it’s played.
This happens every year, it’s either a mystery injury or they dig up something from their past to cause them to fall to a contender. They need guys like Bain on big market teams. I’ve been told by someone who would know, that, if Bain falls to #10, the Bengals will 100% draft him. Take that for that you will.

As a cowboys fan, draft season has always provided hope (because they’ve been **** more often then not). I listen to their draft pundits and they are usually plugged in. Their “Draft Show” is fantastic. Recently, two guys have mentioned things in Bain’s past are requiring a 2nd and 3rd look. Bryan Broaddus (former Eagles intern GM and Cowboys head of scouting) and Bobby Belt are really plugged in and when I heard this it made me perk up. Everything we have ever heard on Bain has been that’s he’s a great citizen and a pillar in the community. Has anyone ever heard anything negative on Bain? This forum would know.
Warren Sapp drop from #1 to #12 because of a positive weed test. GM are stupid, especially GM of losing teams who are worrying about their jobs

Clown writers trying to bring down a kid when case has been closed. Wouldn't mind him dropping a little bit so as to avoid an absolute dog-**** team

Some of the tweets from OSU & UF fans are disgusting! If I understand how Twitter works for monetization, I'm not engaging with them to boost their numbers.

No firsthand info. Maybe she died after being in a coma for three months because the Family decided to let her go and "pull the plug". I wouldn't want to relive that decision and be judged by the world either.

It's a sensationalized headline reporting era we live in. Context doesn't matter in comparison to likes, shares, and interactions.

I remember many years ago Louis Oliver, a highly rated Safety from uf, was projected to get drafted high in the 1st round, but he slipped to the Fins (25th) amid rumors of him having issues with drugs, which I don't think was ever a problem with him in the NFL. So he must have kicked the habit, done a good job of avoiding detection or, worse, was the victim of smear job.

I think there were similar issues with Marino and drugs prior to draft.

There are some really bad in this world, ******** around with people's career, money and, worse, reputation.

Absent more info… yeah.

The article is a little light on details as to what exactly his citation was for and why it was dropped.

I think sometimes as a journalist you’ve got responsibility. Aside from creating a bunch of negative headlines about Bain right before the biggest day in his life, it’s unclear what they’re alleging he did wrong. And also seem to be going against the families wishes. The value of the article is nil imo
