Routinely going 3 and out after getting a short field

When you can't run on first down or in the RedZone its tough. Our OL is limited and against better teams and coaches it shows.

Need to have plays that guarantee us aleast five yards and use those on first down to set the offense up in a more manageable third down. Dont know if its Ricth or Rosier thats deciding to throw the ball deep every first and second down but thats setting us up for disater on third downs. Would like to see more short passes to get Rosier in a rhythm vs sending recievers out on deep routes over 10 yards

This game is on Rosier. If he hits the long ball (or even some of the other chippies he missed), we would have rolled. We couldn't run as Pitt stacked the box and dared us to throw. That worked.

Well why did our genius OC waste precious plays trying to run up the crowded middle?

After all, it's not been there all year!

Exactly. If Rosier hits even one of those long balls to Richards it's a totally different game.

The huuuge problem was that those long throws were almost always on first down. Richt was looking to out think the defense. Rosier was bad today, but come on, the OC has to help out a struggling qb. We have known from game 1 that Rosier is as streaky a QB as there is. Almost every pass I can remember was deep down the field. On the td drive, Rosier was able to dink and dunk down the field. But for some reason, we went back to throwing deep. I know the game film will show wide open wrs, but that's not the point. Rosier was just not able to hit those, but was OK on the short passes. So one might expect an OC to adapt to what is working for the qb. The play calling stayed the same from start to finish - I saw no improvisation, adjustments or creativity. Just trying to do the same thing over and over again, then fans blaming the execution when it doesn't work. I like was hugely disappointed in the play calling today. Right after one of the turnovers, I posted that I just knew Richt would go deep because that's his habit. The announcers said it too. And I'm pretty sure Pitt's HC knew it as well. Just too **** predictable and no attempts to jump start the O except an ill advised qb switch late in the game. FFS, how about trying Dallas in the Wildcat then having him throw a pass? Jesus, just try something. Didn't look like Richt was coaching with urgency today.

I think the team reflected the head coach’s personality this afternoon. The same blah offense.
