Rousseau Penalty

Regarding the Rousseau play tho, what exactly is he trying to accomplish in that situation? He is ten yards from the kicker and somehow he is going to jump and block the punt? Come on man he is not superman. He should either be down field blocking or laying his shoulder into that blocker to attempt to take him out of the play. No matter how you shake it this is bad coaching. The player is not being put in a position to succeed and he does not know the rules.
He probably is the tallest guy on the team so who knows. It was a brutal call I keep watching and I guess it’s illegal now to try and jump and block a punt.

There's no sugar coating it, our special teams are a ******* dumpster fire.

We have the worst punter in college football.
We have a kicker who went 4/10 in high school.
Our coverage units have been average at best.
Our return game has been average at best.
We commit a lot of dumb penalties.

no situational awareness. they were kicking from the endzone, meaning we'd have the ball at the 50. they should have known this and been conservative. fair catch the ball and start the possession. bad coaching

Most ridiculous call I’ve ever seen...outside of the infamous Glenn sharpe PI.

If you jump towards the wall it's considered attempting to jump over the wall.

You have to jump straight up to not get the flag. Everyone in all of college football knows this.

Except for Miami.

Great Post. Just like the running into the kicker that we didnt run into.

Situational Awareness is lacking in all phases.

2nd and 6 early on, their side of the field, and we try two bombs.

D. Jax with the late hit on 3rd down.

Even the 50yard run I beleive was on a 2nd and 15. With a conservative team, first thing you should be thinking is run, draw or screen.

That's the point? If you're getting the ball at the 50 from a fair catch, then you send the house and don't worry about blocking, just tell your return man to fair catch. It was a good decision to send the dogs, it just didn't connect.

We have been fvcked by the refs many times. This was not one of them. Sure there were some bad calls.

We didn't lose because of the refs. We lost because we have a bargain bin corching staph.

I agree but the refereeing played a major role as well.

Losing Bandy was crucial.

That’s some seriously stupid sh#t! If they’re going to enforce stupid penalties like that they should make a penalty for what the LSU player did cutting him at the knees. That’s a helluva lot more dangerous than jumping to block a punt.

You can’t jump over the wall or whatever they call it. That’s on the coaches for not teaching him that. Rightfully Called penalty.

The Harley penalty reaffirmed my belief that penalties should be reviewed for accuracy. He didn’t even touch the punter and the kickers/punters should be penalized for flopping like they do in soccer. Zero tolerance for flopping

Yes, I thought it was a flop. Bad call that contributed to a bad night.

Not sure why we where going after the punt anyways in that situation. Just play max protect and you get the ball at the 45 yard line at worst.

The roughing the kicker call was a complete miss, no contact, punter jumped and fell down. The refs blew this call and LSU ran the next play quickly to avoid replay. The Big 12 officiating crew was terrible, missed a lot of calls, biased and the call on Bandy was total BS as well. A player can't control what the guy coming at him does, if he lowers his head, you are screwed. In the NFL, they penalize the offensive player for lowering his head the same as a defensive player. Those two calls changed the game. Rousseau did not jump the shield, the olineman went low and flipped him, again the refs had no clue what they were doing.

I’m still out of my mind at the penalty they called on GR15. What the in actual **** did he do? And Harley’s running into the punter was a joke. He took the right angle. They protect kickers and punters way too much, it’s football you are gonna get hit.

Obviously Miami has bigger problems like Rosier, tackling, and Feagles but who knows Miami could have scored to end the half.

Cuz they were punting in their own endzone. Muffed punt or anything happens it’s a possible safety or td.

VT did not 11 penalties excuses
