It is definitely filler time.

Here's the breakdown:
Mensah
If anybody not named Mensah is playing and it isn't a bllowout then it doesn't matter.
 
Never seen Nickle at practice or in a scrimmage, but gunslinger persona doesn’t fit how he played in high school. Surrounded by plenty of talent & acted more as a distributor. Didn’t see a lot of risk taking or forcing throws.
 
Nickel will be able to scrimmage with way more talented WR’s this spring, not just walk-ons. He’s next in line, in my opinion. Redshirt Coleman and let him gain weight the proper way. That will also put a year between him and Luke. By the time Nickel has started a season or two, Dereon will be ready to star at QB for us.
