Ross Blacklock (Elkins HS in Missouri City, TX) 2016 NT/DT/SDE runs a 5.34 sec 40yd time at 6'3" tall weighing 330lbs and exhibits great burst off the line. He holds offers from 13 schools including Miami, Missouri, Oklahoma State, TCU, and LSU. There are internet rumors, though unsubstantiated, that he is the son of former univ of Texas player and Globetrotters great, Jimmy Blacklock.

Ross Blacklock is a huge interior defensive line prospect with experience playing multiple spots in varied fronts. Blacklock works his hands to get off blocks, diagnoses plays quickly off the line and gets into the backfield, he has very good strength. Blacklock also displays not bad back side pursuit speed and more importantly makes sure tackles.

Blacklock possesses a massive, powerful base that enables him to steer OL's at will. He has the size/strength to back up traffic and shows an ability to disengage when playing in a 2 gap defense. He's tough verses the run and makes angry tackles punishing the ball carrier. Blacklock displays a good get-off, especially for such a large player. His lateral range is somewhat limited but he's athletic enough to play 7-, 5-, 3-, 1-techniques for his HS team.

Lets see if Al Golden and Miami's Staffers can steal one for the lone star state, this kid would fit their system perfectly. **** Alabama just did last month.
