People in here saying that completion percentage is overrated as if they've never seen Rosier throw behind our speed guys and overthrow our big tagdgets (TEs + Cager) on a consistent basis
The completion percentage percentage doesnt tell the complete story for most QBs. But when you factor his ineptitude to read the defense pre-snap or his lack of vision outside of his first read, consquently missing 2-3 easy big completions every game, then the completion percentage makes sense.
Yeah, it is easy to say that if Malik makes those plays every game we'll coast to the ACC championship. It's a different story when you're facing better defenses. Point is, if we're relying on Malik to be that person every week, we're in trouble due to his wild inconsistency and inability to sustain key drives.
No, what Malik needs to do is understand the personnel has lined up, what the defense gives him, control second level defenders with his eyes, and accurately deliver that ball to those guys in space. Occasionally, keep the defense honest with his feet. But ****, don't just tuck and run when your first option isn't there or when you feel a slight collapse in the pocket. For fcks sake, you can pass the ball in between the hashes too.
Yeah his performance was good enough to keep the distance from Toledo. But if he had handled business like he should have in the first half, he wouldn't have had to press so hard in the second.
