Rosier's best passing game overall

Some of these stat hounds don’t watch games; they only show up here to bytch and parse stats.

If you watched the game you know Rosier played well regardless of that magical 60% completion stat they’re clinging to. He needs to be more accurate, and I don’t think he’s very good. But he answered Toledo every time and stopped them from going on a total rockslide against our defense that completely went in the toilet.

Being a winner isn’t always about accumulating the stats that message board dorks think are integral to their purse swinging tirades. Rosier won that game for us because that had all the earmarks of a disastrous loss when Toledo started scoring at will.
The problem with numbers and the people that lean on them too much is that they tend to ignore things that they can't quantify. Sports statistics are a way of understanding what it is you are seeing and why. It's foolish to see one thing with your eyes, but then look at the stat sheet and disbelieve what you saw.

Unfortunately, the Rosier saga has turned into a constant rag session with a bunch of new guys and guys who never post here when things are going well or when there’s no pressing cause that requires their constant miserable proclamations.

They’re too invested in their misery to acknowledge anything he does as if breaking from their misery for a moment will cause Rick to forget that Rosier isn’t good and that there are 3 other QBs on the roster.

I've watched the game in full 3 times and have watched the offensive possessions more than that, and I keep coming back to the conclusion that Rosier played his best game as a Hurricane. I know folks will argue FSU last year, and the 4th quarter was a thing of beauty, but he was dreadful in the first half in that game. The game on Saturday was probably about his ceiling as a passer.

As a result, Pro Football Focus College gave him the highest grade of any ACC QB from last week. I have to agree. He was 4/6 on 3rd downs....the ones to Cager and Thomas in the 3rd quarter after Toledo made a run were especially huge. The TD to Thomas was a well enough thrown ball. He threw a nice ball to Cager on the sideline that went for a huge gain. He looked off the safety on several occasions and completed passes.

Now, he certainly wasn't great if you want to compare him to what an elite QB looks like. He missed several reads in the RPO game (again) that could have gone for huge yardage. He missed several throws downfield (again), including one to Thomas that he had to make another ridiculous catch on and if the ball is thrown even semi-well, it's an easy TD. And of course, it was Toledo, and the OL gave him excellent protection all day (0 sacks). So we need to see this against a team with a pulse. But bottom line, we know who this kid is at this point, and we know his ceiling. I think the game on Saturday was about as good as we can expect. Sadly, I'd say it was his A game. But was probably a B or B- game if you're looking at it from the standpoint of what a college QB can/should be (example, that would've been Tua's B- game at best, Kyler Murray's B- game at best, etc)

But give the kid credit. We burn him at the stake when he plays poorly, and deservedly so. But you've got to tip your cap when he plays well. And he played well last week. Now let's do it 10 more times this year.
That’s the thing, I want to see him play well for several games in a row. Based on his track record he is the epitome of inconsistent

His best 2 games have come against Toledo. He was better against them last year passing. Completed 75% which is his career high.

We lose four games in a row with a scrub Rosie with all the talent at WR. It amazes me how people are so happy losing the ACC losing a bowl game and losing the first game of the season mainly because of turnovers and not going to 2nd reads or better yet missing open wr who body language show's disdain for Rosy. But few still vouch for him because he won by default.

Its nice beating these small schools but i know when we play a good team our offence is getting exposed! Love my team its nice gettin these wins but with the way our offence plays an JJ an AR out that could be big trouble. More worried about Malik than our defence ive seen enough of him those 4 games proved enough. I dont think we can win with him (the VT's Clemson, Playoffs). 10 wins ya no CC or NC with Malik smh

who's to say he can't continue to get better?

I'm remembering all name's when shut hits the fan of the backing of Rosy. Loose I expect but Franchise I actually thought he knew football talent and not mediocre athletes. If we loose any other game besides Clemson will be because of Rosy D riders. Play calling can always be audible out of pre read.

You’re a dope. I’m here to discuss football not to lead or participate in a faqqy lynch mob against our players. We won the Toledo game, in large part, because Rosier answered Toledo when Toledo was destroying our defense. If that wounds your delicate psyche then hit the ignore button, **** face.

You pvssies sitting in here constantly repeating how horrible he is even when he plays a gigantic part in us winning a game makes you look like whiny, stupid *****. We all know he’s a limited guy. You crying about him every day isn’t going to make Rick make a change.

That would be when we "lose" any other game. Add my name to your list.
