Rosier

He beat FSU and won the coastal. But he has reached the limits of what he can do as a starting QB. It's past time for the more talented players to play.

Cool post Bro, you should look for a program who had a coach "with a pair", we don't deserve you as a fan.

Already did when I sat down with my dad as a kid to watch his then favorite team Penn State vs Miami and the more I watched a Freshman Jim Kelly pick apart that team and how different and special they seemed, the more I fell in love with Miami. I have been a diehard fan since that day. Your response is typical of many on this board. I guarantee had Rosier started last night instead of Perry, you would be on here calling out CMR instead of coming at me for simply stating the truth Bro.

That's just ESPN trying to add to their story. That's what they do with everything. He will definitely go down as one of the more criticized players of recent history but we should be thankful for what he did. If he didn't play last year, we would've had a true Freshman, or Evan Sheriffs.... Scary thought

he accomplished more (team wise) than any QB in recent memory (since maybe berlin in terms of team success). he wasn't the most talented and obviously limited but he did what he could

I need some Kleenex when did he die. Dude is lucky to be on the roster. He has got his ceiling and beyond. I don't feel sorry for him
I wanted Rosier off the field but the kid is a Cane and still played above his ceiling. He was a baseball player who broke the streak at doak. Respect
We don't get to double-digit wins last year without him, and I think the 2017 season will be the jumping off point to the Canes getting back to a college football power. For that, I'll always appreciate the kid and wish him well.

It is what it is. I'm not sure Malik Rosier ever thought he would see the field when he signed his LOI.

for me it was our 5 game win streak to end 2016, including that W in the bowl game over WVU

If all Rosier ever did was pump up the crowd right before the FSU win, it was enough for me to put that in Miami legend lore. And it happened the same season that Berrios flipped back the U and did the handcuffs - hauling in Rosier TD passes.

In the next few years if we get a NC - the astute fans will look back and recall him fondly as the QB who led us out of the funk.

As much as I wanted him replaced, I am proud of the young man for not running away from competition, and helping the young QBs.

Love Perry and wanted him to start after the LSU loss!. No question. But....

I felt bad for Rosier watching the game on TV, ESPN kept showing him on the sidelines trying to get any facial or negative reaction. Trying to show the defeated man.

But Rosier was there calling in signals, encouraging his teammates. A big man understands that its time for someone else, more talented to play, someone he helped mentor.

I just felt bad for him (softie side of me)

A CANE for ever! I appreciate what he has done and the way he is conducting himself now!

If his role is using his experience to mentor the next man up, so be it. I'm glad Rosier is still a team player and is owning his current role.

You'll get no sympathy from Richt, when he's made a career out of playing behind the best of all time. If Rosier isn't a future starter, maybe he's a future coach.

Other coaches with a pair have had no problems with starting a true Freshman. Had we done so, we would now have a well polished Sophomore QB. Williams could compete for the job next year and at worst, only have to sit 1 to 2 years instead of most likely losing him and Weldon after Spring next year. I don’t feel sorry for Rosier at all. He was doing exactly what he should be doing last night at any top P5 school period. We had some miraculous wins last year only because we never should have been in that position in the first place do to the play of Rosier. Pitt was the final straw for me. I respect him as a Cane and a backup QB but zero sorrow. He held us back for far too long.

I guess Saban doesn't have a pair then because he refused to start his superior freshman QB ALL OF LAST YEAR until he had no choice, in the championship game.

All you dementia patients here also forget Perry was suspended for LSU, so yes, quite literally, Rosier was going to start that game "no matter what," because you can't play from home in street clothes, super armchair corch geniuses.

Cane history will be kinder than the present to Malik. QB of the Miracle at Durham. Balls in a wheelbarrow vs FSU and GT. First QB to have 10 wins in 13 years. He will be remembered as the guy that was the bridge to our resurgence

I hope other students and fans are telling him, "Thanks for everything you've done for the program and extra special thanks for making it as painful as possible for FSU and Notre Dame."

Rosier was never going to get drafted in the NFL even if he won the ACC title last year (his completion percentage really is amongst the worst in country), so he is just a kid who played the game to get a college education. Good for him. Hope he goes onto great success in the real world, and doesn't have to pay for another drink in Miami for as long as he lives.

I think most of us don't "feel sorry" for Rosier. He exceeded expectations - maybe even his own - and did the best he could given the situation and his limited ceiling. He's getting a high quality education and got to play on some big stages when he was told he never would.

Whatever the circumstances that led him to being the starting QB for the Miami Hurricanes, he was the starting QB for our Miami Hurricanes. I'll always respect Rosier for exceeding expectations and playing hard. Hopefully, he continues to be a willing mentor to Perry and stays ready to play if called upon.

I'm not quite sure we couldn't have done just as well in 2017 with someone else, but surely we could have done worse. And he sure gave an all-out effort, trying to get it together, trying to improve, always trying to win and help the team up. Appreciate and respect that greatly.

Kid hyped up the FSU home crowd right before he put a dagger in their team on the road to end a 8 year losing streak. Should never pay for a meal in South Florida again.

Also, we will need him again before the end of the season if history holds.
